Brisbane Lions

[edit]

Roylion68 - can you please hold back from any further undoing of the NPOV content on the page while we work out an appropriate resolution. And yes, you are welcome to show any such content that could be the basis of a resolution for this issue, either here or on the Brisbane Lions Talk page. JayBee00 (talk) 03:19, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Roylion68 - warning again about overwriting WP:NPOV information sourced from Wikipedia:Reliable sources, and restating Wikipedia policy about WP:NOR and WP:Editing policy.

And claiming - without any apparent basis - that the Victorian Lions Supporters Group website is somehow a "subjective forum", or that the Deed of Arrangement between Brisbane Bears and Fitzroy Football Club is somehow "an article by the Lions Roar", or that it is somehow "my personal opinion", does not make it so or justify undoing the content.

The Deed is a legal fact. It is clearly the most reliable source describing what happened with the process by which Fitzroy's AFL operations were merged with Brisbane Bears and what otherwise happened with Brisbane Bears as a result of that.

I posted clear information from the Deed about this issue in the Brisbane Lions "Talk" page, very near the top of that page, and tagged you on that posting, but you seem to have ignored that information and are continuing to revert.

I would have to seek dispute resolution at a higher level, in accordance with WP policy about WP:EDITWAR, if you continue to revert. Repeating statements of personal opinion without any evidence simply does not justify that action. I think two warnings is enough. JayBee00 (talk) 06:55, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fitzroy Football Club

[edit]

Roylion68 - sorry, but need to warn about WP:OR editing on the Fitzroy Football Club page. Also, I was of the impression that you were already aware of the Fitzroy Football Club content on the club's website which says Fitzroy's AFL operations were absorbed by or "merged with" Brisbane, not that there was any "merge" between the two clubs. -> https://www.fitzroyfc.com.au/lions

Also, the Deed of Arrangement is clear about this.

"“Merged Club” means Brisbane Bears" (not Fitzroy Football Club and Brisbane Bears, or "Brisbane Lions") "“Merger” means the merger of the Club Operations of Fitzroy and the Club Operations of the Brisbane Bears in accordance with the terms of this Deed and “Merge” has a corresponding meaning;"

https://viclions.wordpress.com/news/the-deed/

In other words, "Merge" on that document factually & legally means Fitzroy's AFL operations were absorbed by/"merged with" Brisbane Bears, as the article on the Fitzroy website states as well, and "Merged Club" means no change in the status of Brisbane Bears, it doesn't mean "merging" of Brisbane Bears and Fitzroy to form any single combined entity. Brisbane and Fitzroy did not "become Brisbane Lions", Brisbane Bears absorbed Fitzroy's AFL operations and became Brisbane Lions. JayBee00 (talk) 01:47, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That is your opinion. Stop trying to project it onto a long held view of it being a merger. That article by the Lions Roar does nothing to confirm your point.
You are constantly coming up with conjecture and articles that reflect opinion and not fact. Stop making these edits. Roylion68 (talk) 03:10, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Roylion68 - it's not an article by the Lions Roar though, and it's not anyone's opinion, opinion, long-held or otherwise, isn't relevant and is WP:OR. This is fact. It is a record of the Deed of Arrangement as published by the Victorian Lions' Supporters Group. This is what the Deed of Arrangement says. And of course the Fitzroy Football Club official account confirms that AFL operations were absorbed by/"merged with" Brisbane, that there wasn't a "merger" of the two clubs to form one club. Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Brisbane Bears, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 00:33, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
