Bobby Norfleet
Just a quick thanks for your help on the Bobby Norfleet article. It was on DYK today. --D-Day I'm all ears 21:22, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Did you see they deleted that article, along with List of Wisconsin musicians? And also the similar lists for every other state? I believe this was done improperly - without tagging the pages. Do you recall seeing a tag go up, mentioning an AfD? -Freekee 03:21, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm taking it for review. I just wanted to find out from someone whether it really was tagged. Can you say you never saw a tag? I just want to be sure before I make an issue of it. I'm having it reviewed for two reasons. One, because it really shouldn't have been deleted without notice, and two, because I'd be happy to set up a category or two, but the list has been lost, so I don't know everyone who should be on it.
- Thanks for your help. Before I found out about the Deletion Review, I had asked at the Pump if there was a way to retrieve the text from the deleted pages, so I knew what to populate the categories with. That's the worst part - it took a few weeks to get the list up to where it was. I don't remember everyone who was on it. So yeah, it doesn't have to stay up long. I'd even post a sunset date on the talk page, if someone was concerned about it. But I didn't have much of a problem with maintaining the list, to be honest with you. I watch other pages that end up with a lot of crap on them - this was nothing. Though I must admit that you did most of the reverting (thanks!).
- Glad you're still enjoying The Gufs. They were at Summerfest last week, but I wasn't able to go. -Freekee 04:47, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Royalbroil, and thanks for the notification. After closing this AfD discussion, the only article I deleted was List of United States musicians, while another admin deleted List of bands from Wisconsin and other such articles. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused. If needed, I can restore the list(s) into your userspace until the deletion review is settled. Thanks, Sango123 15:11, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I left a comment for you on my talk page, concerning my award. -Freekee 01:23, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Potter
Hello man
Hey looks like I was wrong on the image of Potter. I wouldn’t exactly call my submission vandalism though because I think I was right at the time of the editation. The Wikipedia definiton of Vandalism is any addition, deletion, or change to content made in a deliberate attempt to reduce the quality of the encyclopedia. I DIDN’T deliberately want to delete the photo but I just thought it wasn’t Potter so my mistake. I seen your message on Monday I think it was and I noted it in my mind because I had to deliver some packages in Green Bay...yawn Tuesday afternoon. I regularly drive through Potter on average once or twice a week depending on the norm. It is quite a nice, quaint little village and I always look forward to driving through it. I always got a kick out of the name when I first moved to Wisconsin. Well anyways on my way back from Green Bay, (forgot to look for image on wat there) I actually looked on Double P and I found the exact location of your photo. Note: I had your photo printed out to vertify....Well good job Royal because you proved me wrong...which seldom people do. Congratulations now I must go back to my peace and tranquility. Have a nice day! SnuffNpuff 21:27, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
The Gufs
Umm yes..The Gufs a great band. I enjoy them and I think they are awesome. By the way I was at that Oshkosh cancert last month excellent..amazing up front and live....
Well anyways about the NPROv tag I don't like how the article is written. I will probably just re-write it, that is if you don't mind. Some of the stuff and facts needs to be straigthtened and require cleanup (dont worry other articles need to be cleaned up to)
Well anyways thank for you concerns let me know...once again not vandalism just rying to help out site...sorry if I offened you on anything, but i can help you out.

Thanks a lot for the links - I'll change the image sources template. Shame there's no equivalent of the Geograph British Isles project - an entire country mapped in Creative Commons images is pretty cool, and has been very useful for British Wikipedians. Thanks for uploading the photos too - I hope that the "requested image" category was at least a little helpful for you! TheGrappler 02:28, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Halbach and Dassey
I will probably have an article up for it like next week Sunday the 17th, I began writing the start of it, just don't feel like finishing it yet. Bdman 02:57, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Hello. When you add pages to Wikipedia:WikiProject Wisconsin/Wisconsin recent changes, you might also want to add the {{ WikiProject Wisconsin }} template to the talk page as well, so it gets indexed when someone automatically indexes that page. Cheers --BaronLarf 22:25, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
Talk
Hey thanks I joined that Wisconsin project. I appreciate the help you have given me. I was on vacation the past week visiting some of my family in North Carolina. It was a nice escape, so I am a little mad to be back. It just that I have been gone and haven't been using Wikipedia, you know. Coool photos you took, I was just browsing through a few of them. I see that you like racing too, I watch it off and on. My dad used to always take me to watch the Winston Cup Races when I was a kid.
Vundever later
Just me again. Um under the Madison Speedway Article I noticed that you took a photo...don't get me wrong nice photo, but I found it inappropiate for the site (at least a racing article) It showed a lady's butt and some skin, so I took it off I suggest you crop it. I don't thinkm it should be seen on this type of article. Well I did it for you hope you like it and repost it. But I just thought that it was a naught photo for this type of genre I suggest you use this one and post it again.....

Glad you liked the Escudo image. I have a full set of images I took that day at the race I can host somewhere if you're interested seeing the rest. Just send me an email at Yakermeister@gmail.com if you're interested Danyak501 07:08, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm trying to stay out of POV disputes because I usually just end up yelling at people, but if you're just looking for support I would just say that yes, it is rather POV against Van Hoof, especially the "Criticism" section (ugh, I hate Criticism sections). The fact that she was put under interdict is criticism enough, I would say, though that part could go a little further into why she was (perhaps incorporating some of the info from the criticism section for that). Steve Millen
Do you think you could separate your external links from your references in Steve Millen? Circeus 21:19, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yup. It is important to separate them to avoid thearticle to be assumed as unreferenced
- It's metadata, see Wikipedia:Persondata
- No problem. I do that all the time.
Steve Avery article
I saw your comment in Steve Avery's article saying that there should be articles for Halbach and Dassey. I agree, probably more so for Dassey than Halbach. It's probably not a good idea if I start them, but I'd like to help. Are you planning on doing this, or is someone else? The previous unsigned comment was left by User:Talosian.
As much as I'd love to actually write an article, I can't do this one. My dad is the judge in Dassey's case, which would make anything I'd write not only be against WP:NPOV, it doesn't seem like it'd be very ethical, either. Thanks for responding, though. I'm new and am not entirely sure what I'm doing most of the time.
On an unrelated note, I see that you've done Lawrence Trivia; my team got 2nd place last time I was able to go. Isn't it awesome? --Talosian 15:37, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback
Thanks for the feedback on my Zippy page. I plan to flesh out the career accomplishments a bit more. I've made some contacts for permission to use a pic. And I'll take your advice on the family info. Hope to be ready to publish this weekend...probably without a pic yet.--CAN 04:05, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks again. I'm struggling with pix. I've searched Wiki Commons and found nothing. I've found pix of Zippy on places like Flikr, but it looks like the posters aren't the copyright holders. I have, in my wanderings, found the Creative Commons logo sometimes, altho I can't remember where exactly. Is is safe to assume that a pic on a page with that logo is useable? I've done the image tutorial, and followed most if not all of the "use" related links, and am still confused. I appreciate any help - or pointers in the right direction - you can give me. And thanks for taking this newbie under your wing. --CAN 05:00, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for saving the Frankie Schneider article. He was a very notable driver. We had scheduled to write an article about him in WikiProject NASCAR, as he had a NEXTEL Cup win. He had an interesting career. I see you are from New York, so please expand his article if you know anything else about his career. Good Job! Royalbroil 13:41, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:ManitowocWisconsin.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:ManitowocWisconsin.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Eurovision
Yes, there was a conflict of interest there although I did not create those things myself. However the RfA started before the AfD and I was approached by about 10 different editors to run in the month before that as well. I have since undertaken a policy of not closing any Eurovision AfDs - I could have blocked User:Stanfordandson on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Du Bist, but chose not to. Having said that, if you see my userpage for my contrib list, I have written some 100+ articles on swimming, and maybe 20 on cricket, but I am still relentless in deleting nn cricket and swim clubs - pls see User:Blnguyen/AfD. So there is an issue there, yes, although I see people closing AfDs on religious/political things when they have edited analogous stuff also. Since the songs are at the same level as the xxx in ESC year, then it isn't obvious so I would abstain from doing so. Thanks, Blnguyen | BLabberiNg 03:27, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for inviting me to join the WikiProject CCM. I might, but right now I am still pretty new and confusedish. Ha ha... Image tagging for Image:Rc19403.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Rc19403.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

WikiCommons question
If you are happy with the current names of your images, upload the images to the Commons under the exact same name. Then the image on the English Wikipedia can be deleted and it will not effect any articles because Wikipedia picks up the image with the same name from the Commons if the Wikipedia version is deleted. I'm assuming all the images you are moving to the Commons are public domain or licensed for free use. If not, they cannot go on the Commons. Be sure to properly summarize and tag the image on the Commons. Let me know if you need more specific info. -Regards Nv8200p talk 14:04, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
re: Kloten article
It was because of the de: article that I wrote the en: one. Do you know any of the hamlet's history? Why is it called Kloten, when was it founded, by whom, etc. Even if it ultimately doesn't warrant an article of its own on de:, it does on en:. WP isn't paper. Even if you convince me that it belongs only as a section in Unincorporated communities in Calumet County, Wisconsin, it's part of history, and its memory should be preserved. Hunting, Wisconsin is now a wooded corner on a country road. All that remains of Hadleyville, Wisconsin is a dilapidated cemetery. Just because these places are now just a wooded lot and the back end of a farm today, doesn't mean they're irrelevant. At least not IMHO. Cheers, Tomertalk 05:54, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Kaukauna
Thanks for most of the cleanup edits you just did on the Kaukauna article. It's been kind of my baby, and it's nice to see somebody else look after it once in a while. I just have one question: why remove the section on how locals talk about highways? The reason I mentioned it is because in other parts of the country, people often refer to highways either with a definite article (i.e. "The 10") or by a name (i.e. "The Dan Ryan" for I90/94 south of Chicago.) I don't know if the way we do it is, in fact, notable, and I respect your decision (and even support it to a certain extent; the Appleton article has no such explanation), but I feel like that fact should be noted somewhere, even if it's not in the Kaukauna article. Please let me know what you think. Thor Rudebeck 07:18, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Red Farmer birthdate
Hey - I found this source here: http://www.motorsportshalloffame.com/halloffame/2004/Red_Farmer_main.htm that quoted his birth date as 1928.
Then today I looked a bit further and found this article: http://www.talladegawalk.com/previous_inductees/farmer_red.htm
which states that no one really knows his birth date. So I suppose the answer is - who knows? SmartGuy 14:14, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
No contradiction that I'm aware of. I took the picture, I assert copyright, and I release it under the GFDL license. The phrasing used ("released under the terms of the Wikipedia copyright") is the phrasing Wikipedia recommented at the time. It's my image, I can do what I like with it, and what I choose to do with it is to license it under GFDL. I don't need to surrender my copyright in order to grant permission to everyone to use it under the GFDL. Dpbsmith (talk) 12:06, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Christian music {{expert}} tag
Hi... My edit summary linked to Talk:Christian_music#Periods_missing_from_the_article. My hope was that someone with the requisite expertise would begin to fill in the missing periods, most notably the period between 12th-century plainchant and so-called "Christian contemporary" music -- in other words, the period in which the vast bulk of noteworthy "Christian music" was composed, a period not even mentioned in the article. Addtionally, the latter part of the article, the "See also," "Christian Popular Genres," Online Stations, and "External links", are all occupied with "Christian contemporary," a genre of comparatively negligible importance in the history of Christian music, and one that, incidentally, already has a separate article devoted to it. --Rrburke 17:06, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

I looked at the images. I changed the city seals to "seal" as they are not work of the US govt. On the other images, they are suspicious, but I can't prove they are not his images so I have to take it on good faith that they are. The quality of the images is not good enough to make me think they were taken by a professional. -Nv8200p talk 03:58, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Asher Heimermann sockpuppet tag
Hi. I believe you may have put the wrong sockpuppet tag on User:Asher Heimermann's page. As I read it, it currently says that Asher is a sockpuppet of himself. I assume you meant to label him as the puppeteer of the abusive sockpuppet rather than the puppet itself.
I also am not sure that applying the formal sockpuppet tags is appropriate in this instance. According to his userpage, and corroborated frankly by his behavior, this user is a junior-high-school student. He is overly full of enthusiasm but apparently is not ready to participate in Wikipedia, and unfortunately is probably headed for a Wiki-vacation of non-trivial length if he doesn't start accepting advice, but I think we need to be humane about how we handle the process. There is general agreement that the younger users are full-fledged Wikipedians and join the project and take their lumps with the rest of us, and most of them wouldn't have it any other way, but sometimes one needs to keep things like that in perspective. Especially when the user is ill-advisedly using his full name as his username and whatever is written on his pages may follow him around for awhile. Just some thoughts for what, if anything, they might be worth. Regards, Newyorkbrad 05:56, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note. I don't think the tags on the other pages matter too much one way or another. If this situation doesn't improve in the next day or two either some admin is going to block him or at least it'll wind up posted on ANI for discussion. Regards, Newyorkbrad 06:09, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, basically, that's the sum of its scope. We're working primarily on current British drivers and teams, UK-based championships, and circuits, but there is scope for any motorsport article as long as it is about a British team, constructor, driver, series, organisation or circuit.
