Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Aaron Renn
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Aaron Renn, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - I have replied in the Talk section of the article in order to contest the nomination. On top of defending the information included in the entry, as well as providing an argument for the notability of the subject of the entry, I'm also requesting you to identify specific areas of text which are promotional in nature. Please provide some specific guidance on what should be changed about the article. RowsdowerSavesUs (talk) 00:38, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
- The subject is not notable. No reliable sources. Only serves to promote or publicise the person. Equine-man (talk) 00:45, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
- Just because they aren't personally familiar to you doesn't mean they aren't notable. This is a specific realm of religious and social thought, and publications like First Things, American Affairs, City Journal, the American Conservative, Mere Orthodoxy, and others all hold weight in the specific intellectual circles the entry was written about. You have only your finite experience of the world, so it's not obvious that your personal judgment of what is notable is more accurate than anyone else is. I'm sure there is something you personally think is notable that I don't find notable at all. Not a good measure, clearly.
- Also, you didn't point out any specifics about the entry which should be changed or improved. You clearly have no interest in improving the entry. RowsdowerSavesUs (talk) 00:51, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
