A question about the BLM-notice thingy (moderately important)
[edit]Hey,
I like the saying of BLM. I want to put the notice on my wiki user page saying that i know that black lives matter. How did you do that? Please tell me :)
Thanks, I'm_here_to_help_you I am Being Here to Help You (talk) 16:46, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @I am Being Here to Help You:! The BLM message on my user page is a userbox. The way you'd put that user box on your user page is by copy and pasting the information in curly brackets on this page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:User_Black_Lives . I hope this helped, if not, feel free to send me another question. RoundSquare (talk) 17:35, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
@RoundSquare: Wow! Thanks! That helped a lot. I'm checking it. :) I am Being Here to Help You (talk) 14:42, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
@RoundSquare: And how did you add the "This user has been on Wikipedia for ____ years __ months and __ days" userbox? I can't find the link to that. I am Being Here to Help You (talk) 12:11, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
- @I am Being Here to Help You: Hello. Here is the link to that userbox: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:User_Wikipedian_for RoundSquare (talk) 19:50, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
Thank you so much! I am Being Here to Help You (talk) 07:54, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
A question about your talk page (unimportant)
[edit]Why do you delete your discussions in your talk page? :) Just asking, nothing important or serious. :) I am Being Here to Help You (talk) 16:48, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
- @I am Being Here to Help You: Hello! I did not delete my talk page discussions so much as archive them. I did this to remove the clutter and make my current talk page area more clear. The old discussions are still viewable on a different page, User talk:RoundSquare/Archive 1, which is now linked at the top of my talk page. RoundSquare (talk) 17:37, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
Wow! Nice! I like the way you organise things. :) I am Being Here to Help You (talk) 14:43, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
Thank you!
[edit]Hello @RoundSquare:,
Here I have for you a thank you message, which I wanted to add as a "barnstar" but I don't have the option to — it's not showing here.
So, anyway, thanks for the information you gave me on userboxes. I am Being Here to Help You (talk) 12:13, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
- @I am Being Here to Help You: You're welcome! Also, by the way, this seems to be the proper way to give someone a barnstar, if you still want to do it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Barnstars#How_to_give_a_barnstar .
DYK for Liberia–United Kingdom relations
[edit]On 1 September 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Liberia–United Kingdom relations, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that neighboring British Sierra Leone and Liberia disputed their border, and the British Empire seized the disputed territory in 1885? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Liberia–United Kingdom relations. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Liberia–United Kingdom relations), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Michigan 20th House District
[edit]Can you edit Michigan 20th house district page as you have done for other house districts? Thanks! Nja2195 (talk) 02:42, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Nja2195: Hello. I plan to update all the Michigan house districts eventually, including the 20th district. Because of your request, I'll try and update the 20th district sometime tonight. RoundSquare (talk) 02:58, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
Sheldon Neeley
[edit]I'm trying to update the page for Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley, curious why you changed it back. Thanks! Denden922 (talk) 17:22, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Denden922: Hello. I reverted your edit to Mayor Neeley's article because it removed Neeley's name at the beginning of the article for no apparent reason. I saw that you later tried to put the fact the he only attended Saginaw Valley State University, and did not graduate, in his infobox after this first edit. It is not a bad idea to include that piece of information in the article, but it'd be better to include it in the body of the text than in the infobox. RoundSquare (talk) 17:28, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm trying to indicate that Mayor Neeley ATTENDED SVSU but does not have a degree from there. Not sure how best to do this, I'm new to editing Wikipedia pages. Denden922 (talk) 17:38, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Denden922: Like I said earlier, you'd want to add that information in the body of the article. Try to write a sentence in the article that states that, and then add an inline citation to back up the claim. To learn how to use inline citations, look at this resource: Wikipedia:Inline citation. RoundSquare (talk) 17:41, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Denden922: By the way, what sources indicate to you that Neeley merely attended SVSU? Official sources I can find, like this link indicate that Neeley received a bachelor's degree from SVSU. RoundSquare (talk) 17:44, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- I appreciate your help on this. I don't want to ADD anything, I want to correct the perception that Mayor Neeley GRADUATED from SVSU. If you go to his official website https://www.cityofflint.com/department/mayors-office/ and his campaign website www.Neeley4Mayor.com they have it correct. Somewhere, someone years ago said he graduated from SVSU and that is incorrect. I work for the Mayor and we are trying to fix this. Denden922 (talk) 22:59, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Denden922: Hello. Appropriate sourcing was the most important thing you were lacking in the previous edits. Thank you for providing sources to back up the information. I will edit the article properly for you. Also, if you work for Mayor Neeley and are editing the article for Neeley, then I recommend you check out Wikipedia:Conflict of interest to make sure you do not violate Wikipedia's guidelines. Just a quick heads-up - you added an infobox to this article, which already had one. I don't know how that happened, but if you are doing it automatically or semi-automatically, you should check your scripts.Brianyoumans (talk) 15:35, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Brianyoumans: I was trying to move the infobox up a few lines because it was in the wrong place before. Seems I accidentally duplicated in the process. Thanks for fixing it and letting me know. RoundSquare (talk) 16:50, 18 April 2023 (UTC)

Vis-a-vis Nauru
[edit]Hi, given the close relations between Nauru and Australia, I suggest checking Australian news and government sources for information. Sources that may help include ABC News, The Sydney Morning Herald and other Australian newspapers such as The Age and Australian Financial Review, Trove and possibly the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Just a hunch. Cheers, Will Thorpe (talk) 04:03, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Willthorpe: Yeah, you're right. I have been able to find more sources about Nauru since I've written that request, and now that I think about it, they are all pretty much Australian and New Zealand sources. Trove has been useful, particularly its collection of Pacific Islands Monthly. These are useful for some info about Nauru, especially election info, but unfortunately are kind of lacking when it comes to biographical info about individual politicians a lot of the time. The article 1617 in Sweden has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-Notable
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
Help Wanted
[edit]Thank you for rating my article for Jake Bissaillon!! Is there any chance you could take a look at my drafts for Draft:David Tikoian and Draft:John E. Aldridge. It would be greatly appreciated. I'm also pretty new to Wikipedia so ay feedback would help. 4/16/2024 12:33AM EST User:Thatchmomo
- @Thatchmomo: Hello. I'm sorry, but I've never been involved in the Articles for Review process, so I probably won't look at your drafts. However, in terms of feedback, one thing I can tell you off the bat is that in infoboxes, for people currently in office, it's not the convention to put the end-date of a term if it's in the future. Look for example at the article for Joe Biden. Officeholder infoboxes have a feature where if you don't put an end-date to their term, it will display "Incumbent". You're not utilizing this feature if you put a future end-date in in their term of office.
- Also, when you're starting a new topic on a talk page, make sure to press the "Add topic" button, not "Edit". The "Add topic" button will automatically add things like your name, and a timestamp. It will also let others reply easier. RoundSquare (talk) 05:08, 17 April 2024 (UTC)

- @DragonflySixtyseven: Thanks for the tip! I wouldn't have thought of that. RoundSquare (talk) 16:33, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, and - in the later editions of Marquis, they would sometimes save space by saying "see entry in [previous edition]" or equivalent. Not all those editions are on archive.org, but some of them are available via Hathi Trust (although I haven't yet figured out how to download a PDF of the complete Marquis for a given year, instead of just one page).
