Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Wagner Solar Inc, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hi, I'm not sure how this whole Wikipedia editing thing works yet, but whoever changed the article is definitely wrong. Wagner Solar Inc is a company operating in the US as a subsidiary of Wagner and Co. I will continue to edit this until it catches because there are obviously some misinformed and self-righteous editors out there who do NOT know what they are talking about. I encourage them to do proper research before they edit a page that they should not even be editing in the first place.
Unless you are able to provide reliable sources about the US subsidiary which are enough to establish notability at the level required for Wikipedia, I would suggest you refrain from getting into an edit war with other editors over it. Additionally, please refer to the Wikipedia on personal attacks and you are strongly encouraged to avoid those. Please focus on content, and not on contributors. Thank you. Hi, I did not attack anyone in particular. I just spoke out generally about self-righteous editors, which I believe is something all Wikipedia editors should be concerned about. Again, I am new to Wikipedia and am unfamiliar with its customs, so you will have to forgive this. With that said, I am pretty concerned with the way in which this article was so rashly edited and destroyed. If you reference Wagner & Co's own blog, you will find that Wagner Solar Inc is indeed a US subsidiary. This means that it is a separate entity. Redirecting it, therefore, was completely erroneous. It especially appals me that I found this information through a simple, two minute Google search that none of the editors even took the time to complete. Again, I am not sure how that fits into any of Wikipedia's policies specifically (as I am sure you do). http://blog.wagner-solar.com/international/german-solar-pioneer-wagner-solar-inc-targets-north-america-with-award-winning-products/
It is best to avoid using terms such as, "self-righteous" when referring to other editors. It breaches our norms of civility. A company blog does not establish notability, for which the subsidiary would require substantial secondary reliable source coverage. Please read those links so you can understand how to contribute effectively. Arguing about it without trying to understand Wikipedia norms and rules will not be very effective. Hi, pleas help me understand. In reliable source, it says the following: " Each source must be carefully weighed to judge whether it is reliable for the statement being made and is the best such source for that context." Are you honestly saying that a firm is NOT a reliable source of information when it comes to information about the state of the actual company? Also, how do I flag vandalism?
No, I don't doubt that it is a subsidiary of the parent company. But that doesn't make it notable, which is what is required for an article. Please do read over the notability guidelines: WP:N. In terms of vandalism, you can remove vandalism from a page as long as you mention why you are doing so in an editing note. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 00:22, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
