Alternative medicine

[edit]

Hi! I saw that you made this edit to alternative medicine, which was reverted by Alexbrn. The reason for this was that the source you added was a self-published YouTube video. YouTube in general isn't seen as a reliable sources on Wikipedia because anyone can upload a video and YouTube doesn't actually vet the claims prior to it going live. Also, Wikipedia guidelines on sourcing for medicine and psychology related articles is a little specific on what can be added. The source must be reliable, however it must also be either a secondary or tertiary source. A secondary source would be something such as a literature review in a journal article, while a tertiary source is something that summarizes a wide variety of secondary sources, such as a textbook. You can see a bit longer explanation of this here.

I think it's awesome that you want to dive into the world of medicine on Wikipedia - it's a fascinating and wide subject area, so there are lots of things to add and learn about. However I do need you to take this training before editing further, as this will give you a good overview of editing in this subject area.
