At 18, while holidaying in Mumbai, she received work offers and decided to stay back and pursue a modelling and acting career in India.[6] Hazel then appeared in various popular music videos as "Kahin Pe Nigahen" as well as many popular TV commercials, such as Vivel by ITC, & Sprite 'University of Freshology' commercial.[8] Hazel's first break in films came in 2007 in the Tamil film Billa, a remake of the classic film Don, where she performed an item number, originally played by Helen, in the song "Sei Ethavathu".[6] In 2011, she played a supporting role in the Hindi film Bodyguard produced by Atul Agnihotri and directed by Siddique opposite Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. She has performed an item number titled "Aa Ante Amlapuram" in the film Maximum.[9]
