List of unusual deaths

[edit]

Be careful about adding deaths that the source does not explicitly call 'unusual.' Things like factory fires, building collapses, and falling from a boat are not really out of the ordinary. Bkatcher (talk) 01:58, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Look, im sorry. I just dont realize how non-unusual they are. I thought the April 1912 and October 1925 ones were unusual because i didnt think enough if other train tunnels collapsed, and i remembered Béla i of hungary, so idk what i am doing. Im sorry i add these, i am just an idiot at not looking before i add em. Rori1911 (talk) 02:38, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not call yourself an idiot. You are no such thing. You are helping to add knowledge to the world, and I hope you contribute here for years to come. Just remember, the source has to specifically say the death was unusual or a synonym, or it'll be removed. Bkatcher (talk) 02:45, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Also, I think we should add more images in the wiki. Carlton has a photo, Mary emma busc James has a photo, Clarence Stagemyer has a photo etc. I recommend going to Find A Grave or somewhere else where someone's face can be found and added. But ik the administration can do that? I think? Anyways, I'll be on the lookout for the keyword "unusual" or any other synonym. See ya then. Rori1911 (talk) 03:01, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So, can the admins the onlyones to add images, bcuz im trying to upload the Henry Taylor from the illustrated police news, but im not sure where the upload button is. Ive looked at the uploading images page, but im not sure if ONLY the admins are the only ones to add images. Rori1911 (talk) 01:50, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Anyone can upload an image, but it must be a free use image, such as a photo you took yourself or something that the photographer has released for public use. You cannot upload pictures you got off the internet. Bkatcher (talk) 01:55, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ahh ok Rori1911 (talk) 03:24, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page List of unusual deaths, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A bare URL and missing title error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 17:44, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

More unusual death comments

[edit]

When you add a new death, would you please add the quote parameter to your reference and include a quote from the source showing that the death is unusual? I've noticed that some of your edits aren't actually called unusual (or weird, bizarre, strange, etc) and that's the criteria for inclusion on the page.

Also, if you're adding pictures, please set them to center and 100px so everything is standardized. Thanks! NekoKatsun (nyaa) 21:33, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
