Roozbeh,
I'm a reporter for the Washington Post. Would like to contact you regarding a story I'm doing on Wikipedia. How can I reach you?
Thanks, Tom Dunkel Teamsport86 (talk) 23:14, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi! I have made an article with picutres about Reza Shah's mausoleum. Can you put more information in this page in english? Thanks a lot! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aria991 (talk • contribs) 13:06, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
What an interesting note on Cuppy's enduring worldwide influence! But...would you please add information as to the year of the "Iranian controversy" and, if possible, a reference? Cheers! Cuppysfriend 18:41, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- I just wrote everything from memory. The controversy was there for decades, like twenty or thirty years, and I think there are still several people who believe Daryabandari has written it himself. But I have some of the references in my magazines archives, which I'll need to dig for. I will try to do that ASAP. roozbeh 09:18, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Edits
[edit]I think some of the edits you proposed to the article about be are not very good. The article's talk page has already discussed the question of Buddhism. The citizenship issue is not irrelevant to the professional activities which are apparently notable. The list of scripts is the whole point, indeed. Actually the article was heavily edited to general satisfaction after the last of these witch-hunts. -- Evertype·✆ 19:51, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- I understand that you do not agree to the edits. But still I believe they will improve the article a lot. roozbeh 16:25, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Pictures
[edit]All those photos with PD-self license are either taken by myself or from family photos which I release the rights. Please kindly revert your edits. Amir85 23:23, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- There was only one PD-self image, Image:Sassanid-woman.png. I reverted my edit on that image's description page. Please confirm that you had taken the photo yourself on the image description page (with date and place of photography and date of publication) to make sure this doesn't happen again. roozbeh 12:15, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- Image:Boar-sassanid.png, Image:ShapurIII-II.png, Image:Sassanid-style.png, Image:Sassanid-hunt.png, Image:Sassanid-style2.png, Image:Taq-night.gif, Image:Sassanid-style3.png, Image:Izad-bahram.png had wrong licenses (my mistake), they all fell into pd-self category. They all belong to my family's collection (which were scanned and uploadeded to Wikipedia). Amir85 16:06, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "your family's collection"?! PD-self only applies to images you have taken yourself. roozbeh 18:23, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- "My family's collection" means that these photos are mine, FREE and I'm willing to release them to PUBLIC DOMAIN. So tag them accordingly, got it? Amir85 01:00, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- What do mean by "mine"? Does that mean you have a print of the analog photograph, or does that mean that you have taken the photographs yourself? If the second is true, please mention your name as the photographer and add the date and place of photography to the images. If the first is true, you cannot release the photographs to public domain. roozbeh 15:09, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: Unspecified source for Image
[edit]I may have emailed their website, but I don't remember and I can't find the email. So, delete it so that another user can find free version somewhere on flickr or something.--Gerash77 06:05, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Template images
[edit]Hey, how are the images on the templates disputed? Zereshk created the image.Hajji Piruz 19:48, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- I believe he didn't. The original version of the image and the name which includes "background" definitely suggest that it has been "borrowed" from the background of some website. roozbeh 19:50, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has rules against "I believe he didnt". Do you have any reason not to assume good faith regarding Zereshk? If he says he took the picture, take his word for it unless he has a history of lying, which to my knowledge, he doesnt...Hajji Piruz 17:12, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- He has a history of publishing wrong copyright info about images and claiming that he has taken them himself, yes. I can dig that up if you insist, but prefer not to. I (and others) have found at least tens of images he had uploaded to be clear copies of images already on the web. roozbeh 17:43, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

It is said that:
Therefore, pictures of public domain 3D works are not necessarily in the public domain.
- I am not sure that it can be applied to our case. Did you find any specific quote for 2D images from historicl sculptures--behmod talk 20:26, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, To assist global anti-counterfeiting efforts you may wish to consider marking images of banknotes you upload as "Specimen" in some way, if those banknotes represent legal tender.ShakespeareFan00 16:12, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the "SPECIMEN" in yellow ink is quite visible on the note! roozbeh 16:19, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Cyrus
[edit]Hey Roozbeh. Sorry about the ISBN problem; I just added back the modern Persian name without capitalizing the ISBN parameter.
Now, about Ostanes/Artostes. I'll see if I can find my source which explains that Ostanes and Artostes are one and the same, it's just that Ctesias' way of spelling the name was "Artostes". Connop Thirlwall writes in A History of Greece that Codomannus was the grandson of "Ostanes", who was in turn the brother of Artaxerxes II.
- "The person whom he next chose to fill the vacant throne was a member of the royal family, named Codomannus, a grandon of Ostanes, the brother of Artaxerxes II. [...]"
Hope that clarifies it for you. ♠ SG →Talk 17:29, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Old Persian font
[edit]I see you uploaded the Old Persian form of some Persian names [2]. How can I get a font to see them on my screen? Many thaks, Amizzoni 03:10, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- A free font named Xerxes (licensed GPL) is available from http://persian.ir/images/7/70/Xerxes.ttf. It works fine on Linux, but I've heard people having difficulties with it on Windows. roozbeh 07:42, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Featured article
[edit]Salam. I saw your attemt to save This article. Unfortunately it's not an FA article anymore and I've told Behaafaid, Amir85 and some others but nobody pay attention to it. Unfortunately I'm too busy and I'm not familiar with it. How can we maintain it as an FA article?--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 09:49, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
IPA2 Notability
[edit]Hi,
I put a {{Notability}} template on IPA2 and explained the problems on the talk page.
Your input is welcome. Please don't remove the template until there is consensus about it on the talk page.
If notability cannot be proved, i will, unfortunately, have to propose this article for deletion. --Amir E. Aharoni 07:00, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Persian language
[edit]The Persian language article received heavy editing today by new/unregistered users, which I noticed at WikiRage.com. The article may benefit from a good review. According to Wikipedia Page History Statistics, you are one of the top contributors to that page. If you have the time, would you please read over the article and make any necessary changes. Thanks. -- Jreferee (Talk) 08:26, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:The world without Zionism.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:The world without Zionism.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:41, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
