]] Ever wondered why saints are able to live up to the age of 200 years? If you think that is some kind of a miracle, then you really need to know the reality. Nature is the reason that they live a healthy life without being dependent on any kind of medicines. They spend their whole life with the basic nature of the human body. They never needed any online deals like we do these days to keep ourselves entertained. Their entertainment has been to go for long walks in search of different fruits and herbs to keep them full and healthy. They would meditate in peace for long hours to experience bliss of heaven.

But in today’s world, we people are moving away from spirituality and nature. To fulfill calcium and vitamin needs, people are suggested to take injections or capsules! But actually, they can be all met with, if we once again adopt the natural ways of diet, meditation for relaxation and exercises of Yoga for a healthy lifestyle.

India is called the “Land Of Thanksgiving”. Reason being: the saints’ knowledge about nature and universe. Ancient Indian saints had all achieved Self Realization and were full of wisdom because they used to explore the outer greens and inner human nature together. They had written the Upanishads wherein they gave the knowledge to live life as per certain principles like Hard Work, Humility, Compassion and Love. It was not actually Einstein who gave the law of motion and coined out the theory of relativity; laws of gravity, mass and motion, law of light and its speed; but the Indian saints, who were full of wisdom and far advanced with all Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Astrology and Astronomy. They could calculate the exact movement and change of every celestial body.

The Upanishads and Vedas stated the way of living and how to combat every battle in life regarding one’s own body and mind. Considering them closely, and reading the Ayurveda- which helps us to live a long healthy life, without any diseases, we found out many herbs useful in keeping the body free of sickness. Why do we need any supplements when the nature is already so rich with everything? Consider using the following herbs in everyday use to keep the body’s immunity level strong and fight off any kind illness:

1. Basil (Tulsi)- Tulsi is considered to be a sacred plant in India. There was a scientific reason which at that time could not be understood by the common people, which was the high content of mercury in Basil leaves. Tulsi has magical effects when taken in fever and cold. It strengthens the immunity level of our body and deals effectively with all kinds of infections and allergies. The seeds of tulsi when crushed to powder form and taken with water can be very helpful in keeping away from stomach related problems. It helps in maintaining lowering down melatonin in body and maintain the serotonin level to keep us away from stress and depression. When used in Aroma Therapy, it relaxes all the nerves in body and balances the cortisol hormone in our body, which keeps us free from stress and anxiety.


2. Bhoomi Amla (Phyllanthus niruri)- It is called the magical herb which gives a new life to the liver. If you want your body to get detoxified, then consider taking this herb every morning on an empty stomach and you would be able to see the change yourself. Your digestion system would respond in a much better way and you will start losing fat much faster than before. It is a wonderful blood purifier and has proved to be miraculous in treatment of Hepatitis A, B and C. It grows in rainy season on its own. Intake of bhoomi amla regularly for a month would be beneficial. It has anti-viral properties too. Benefits of Bhoomi amla are not restricted to just liver, hepatitis and viral, there are many more properties it has, which work in regeneration of healthy blood cells. Any kind of poison can be removed with the use of bhoomi amla.

3. Neem (Azardirachta indica)- People in India know about 2 common trees: first one- The Neem Tree, second- Peepal Tree. Benefits of neem tree have been called uncountable. Few to name- Oral health, Immunity, stomach problems, hair and skin related issues all can be cured with neem. Everything in this tree is beneficial, from its bark to its fruit. When combined with Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) it raises the blood platelet count and cures any kind of fever, even Dengue fever. When combined with alolevera, it acts as a wonderful face pack, helping us get rid of acne problem.

4. Asgwagandha (Withania somnifera)- if you want to get rid of all the fat around your waist and belly, chew 2 ashwagandha leaves on an empty stomach everyday. This herb has proved to be highly profitable in Cancer pathogenesis and inflammatory conditions. If given everyday to children in their developmental age, they would never have eyesight problems and will grow taller and with a stronger immunity. Foetal abnormalities are said to be completely eliminated when pregnant women are fed with this herb.

5. Hibiscus Flowers and Leaves- Hibiscus is rich in anti-oxidants and Vitamin C. This herb is favorable in lowering Cholesterol particularly the bad LDL, therefore protecting the blood vessels from getting damaged and keeping the heart healthy. It has anti-inflammatory properties as well which help in reduction of blood pressure. It contains flavonoids which are well known as anti-depressant minerals.

These are some herbs which can be easily grown even in your own house. Keep your home decorated with these plants and keep yourself healthy too. Now-a-days with people moving into flats, it is getting difficult to tread on the path which our great saints had laid. But the technology has gifted us with internet, and we can easily access great online deals. Definitely it would be beneficial for people if they start using these herbs on daily basis, but if they cannot, then it is advisable to take a good spa twice a week, wherein your body can atleast soak in oils of these plants. The blend of oils used in spa massages are made up of all these herbs and they would give your all the benefits mentioned above.
