A tag has been placed on File:Frederick High School Old Entrance.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whew

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and sorry for blowing up your talk page with a bunch of messages this morning. My name is Zell Faze and after noticing your edits on the Frederick, Maryland article I figured you might be new around here and that I ought to give you a welcome. So welcome to Wikipedia! If you ever need any help with anything or have any questions, you can leave a message on my talk page or at the Teahouse. Also I wouldn't worry too much about those images that you uploaded that are probably going to be deleted. Its a pretty common mistake for new people to make, no one is going to be angry about it. The notification messages are a bit more strongly worded than I would like them to be. :) Zell Faze (talk) 12:07, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:New Frederick High School.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:New Frederick High School.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:19, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop uploading images from Flickr that are not listed as being available under a free license. These images will be deleted every single time you do so. I've just nominated your images File:Frederick High.jpg and File:Old picture of frederick high.jpg for speedy deletion in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. If you'd like help finding freely sourced images, or if you have permission to use these images and you'd like help in making that clear to everyone else on Wikipedia, I'd be happy to offer some help. Thank you for your edits to the Frederick High School article. Zell Faze (talk) 18:03, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:New Frederick High School.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Frederick High School, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. John from Idegon (talk) 23:47, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

While your image is quite nice (very good for a phone camera), it's got February light and isn't perspective-corrected. Please stop putting your own image in the lead, however good. Acroterion (talk) 23:46, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
