I am interested in expanding the section on electric flight to include the early years

whrn i try to insert text from my history files all the jpef files seem to be lostRolandfly (talk) 14:47, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
I just had a look at your edit to this article and removed your text. I think I understand that you are trying to add some early history to this article, which would be great, but as per WP:V you need to provide footnotes to reliable references. The text you had put in was too minimal to just reformat - it didn't include specific dates or projects. If you can provide something more substantial (including refs) for the article I can help you with the formatting so it fits in there.
As far as images go you need to upload these to Wikipedia or, better yet, to Commons (for freely licenced images) and then link them, as the other ones are within the article. the most important thing is that the photos have to be freely useable, in other words they can't be copyrighted to someone else, they need to be ones you took and freely licence or have permission to freely licence. Have a look at WP:Images for some more info.
I'll keep an eye on your page here so if you respond here I'll see it. - Ahunt (talk) 19:39, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

- All I can see here is what you have written here - what are you trying to do? If you are copying books or presentations, the conversion to text in the browser will render any cut and paste as simple text content. It looks like a book title to me with you as author. If these are not self-published (see WP:SPS) then we can use them as references to write new text for the article, but even if they are public domain documents we can't just "text-dump" them into the article. On Wikipedia we use existing published references to write new original text for articles, citing the refs in the article. Keep in mind, too, that we are writing an encyclopedia here, so we don't want to add 20 pages of history to an article, but rather to create a concise summary of electric aircraft history. Does that help? - Ahunt (talk) 20:12, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- mr Hunt
- how about i send you a pdf file of the complete story
- then if its ok we can try to figure how to get it in the format you need
- Okay - gander22h@gmail.com Perhaps it would be easier that way. - Ahunt (talk) 20:20, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- Did you write "Evaluation of clear air turbulence detection by ground-based radars, special rawinsondes, and aircraft, 1967-1971 (Air Force surveys in geophysics)"? --SPhilbrickT 21:01, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
