From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is not a page to gain popularity or commercially - it is about a web phenomenon that is very much a part of the internet today. As I started in this business in 1994, there was the overriding feeling of comeradery in that websites that were built were done with common good in mind as opposed to the get-rich-quickers. Soon, however the speculators discovered the inherent value in commercial webistes, domains, which were free at the time and raced to learn html 1 which was ridiculously simple. My purpose in this article is to point out that not every web property is an ad in disguise. I have scripted a free dating service for anyone worldwide on this site and hope to show in the years to come that not everything is about dollars and cents. I am the long time owner of this domain and have turned down many large offers for it. Please leave the site and let it become a discussion point for doing the right thing vs. get rich quick.

prod

[edit]

I've replaced the prod tag. It's clearly appropiate, as it gives a deadline but not too tight a deadline. The user has been informed on thier talk that they need to get the article up to shape or it will be deleted.

  • Clearly you have not seen the tag or read WP:PROD. An alternative (which will actually give you and the editor in question in light of your comment involved) is to list at MfD. For the time being, it would be advisable to notify the user of your intentions and hopes... and set the date for your planning the listing of the MfD as your placement of the prod tag now violates Wikipedia policy two ways: 1) It is not in articlespace, and 2) once a prod tag is removed from an article, it is permanently ineligible for another one. This tag is hereby removed a second time. A third time will be a fourth infraction of the WP:PROD policy. B.Wind (talk) 03:48, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
