Thank you for loggin in.

[edit]

Will you please explain your objection to the paragraph you keep deleting in Evil in the discussion page for that article. Thanks. Rick Norwood 22:56, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Truth"

[edit]

Hi. I notice that you have twice, once on WP:AN and once on User talk:Central, said that some insulting comments made by Central here are "true". I'm not sure what you mean exactly, but I found his comment to be extremely rude and insulting, and I do not at all appreciate that you have defended them in this way. I would appreciate an apology. Thank you.--Sean Black (talk) 21:34, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute

[edit]

You and User:172.181.245.96 are clearly having a dispute on how the StarForce should look. I've temporarily protected the page from edits so that you and the anonymous editor can hopefully resolve your dispute on the article's talk page. If possible, could you please provide a summary of your position on the discussion page without attacking that user personally. I'll get the other editor to do the same and hopefully we can come to a consensus. I'll note that the article is prone to these sorts of disputes, it's very hard to keep the thing neutral given the nature of the product. Thanks. --Yamla 22:58, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GNU

[edit]

You seem to have some preoccupation with abolishing the GNU system on numerous articles. This may not be the most effective forum for such work.

Even if you're pious about "Linux" over "GNU/Linux", you deleted the "GNU" from places where the discussion was about such usage and thus completely confused the discussion in that article. --64.222.112.181 15:26, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't vandalise articles such as Debian with your views. The Debian project is very clear about their GNU-involving distory and the name of their Linux ports. - Fuzzie 06:22, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You also seem to have vandalised Linux distribution and Sorceror (Linux distribution). I don't have an opinion on 'GNU/Linux' as opposed to 'Linux', so I haven't been reverting edits which only change that, but you're vandalising articles by removing 'GNU' when it belongs there, such as when discussing a GNU-only OS, or when discussing a distribution with GNU in the name. If this isn't deliberately vandalism, please be more careful about your edits to make sure you're not destroying article content. - Fuzzie 06:34, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
GNU only OS? What the hell is that? GNU is not an OS. Even if you build an OS using only GNU, then it's no longer a linux distribution. Robust Physique 08:01, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There is a GNU kernel, making a GNU OS. The relevant portion of Linux distribution doesn't claim it to be a Linux distribution - it uses it as an example of another OS distribution, along with BSD. - Fuzzie 16:08, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A linux distribution uses linux kernel, not GNU kernel. Robust Physique 18:14, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A BSD distribution uses a BSD kernel and Windows and OS X use their own kernels, but I don't see you removing those links from the paragraph in question. - Fuzzie 20:27, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
well, i don't care about BSD, Windows or OSX. Robust Physique 04:43, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Starforce revert warring

[edit]

Hi, I would suggest that your refrain from revert warring on the Starforce article as you have been doing. I could block you for your behaviour, but I won't do so because I believe that you are acting in good faith. However, please read WP:3RR carefully before reverting again. In any case, there are other ways do handle accuracy and content disputes, as I had already indicated on the talk page previously. Cheers, jacoplane 04:09, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify, I actually agree with you that the torrent link on the message board is a minor addition that isn't notable enough to warrant inclusion in the article. However, revert warring is never acceptable. jacoplane 04:12, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
BTW totally offtopic, I'm curious if the Walrus on your userpage is a Beatles reference. If so, :) jacoplane 05:09, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:Shun.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Shun.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. -SCEhardT 05:00, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know, your repeated removal of relevant information about the StarForce incident without any attempt at discussion constitutes bad-faith editing. Your attempts at pushing pro-StarForce POV is not unknown. -- Миборовский U|T|C|M|E|Chugoku Banzai! 05:55, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

your removal of the section about GalCivII's copy protection without discussion is considered vandalism. Your attempt at pushing Stardock POV is well known. Robust Physique 20:43, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Final warning. -- Миборовский U|T|C|M|E|Chugoku Banzai! 23:45, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
LOL, don't threaten me dude, you don't know who you are talking to. Robust Physique 01:11, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As you wish. Action speaks louder than words. 3 hours. -- Миборовский U|T|C|M|E|Chugoku Banzai! 01:27, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You don't learn do you? 24 hours. In case you would still like to try, I have the following options remaining: 31 hours, 48 hours, 1 week, 1 month or indefinitely. Oh and "other". -- Миборовский U|T|C|M|E|Chugoku Banzai! 05:19, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've unblocked this user. It's clear that you are engaged in an edit war and blocking him is not the way to resolve this conflict. You've both broken 3RR. File an RFC if you cannot resolve this amongst yourselves. However, I feel you are abusing your admin flag here. I won't wheelwar with you, however if I were you I would think twice before blocking this user over this content dispute again. jacoplane 05:39, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Robust, if it is true that you are using sock puppets to revert war then that is totally unacceptable, and you must stop. Also, you must ALWAYS follow WP:3RR. If you don't follow this then you will be blocked. Also, please stop changing "focused" to "focussed" and other spelling mistakes. I'll assume that you have been making these mistakes in good faith up till now, but if you do this again I'll assume you are acting in bad faith. Please contribute constructively to the debate. jacoplane 17:01, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:305.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Abu Badali 20:50, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Marijuana Wiki

[edit]

Hi there,

I see that you are a pro-Cannabis Wikipedian so I hope this will be of some interest to you.

I've started a Marijuana wiki (aka The Sticky Wiki) which I think you might be interested in. I'm hoping you can help me get started with this project. Whereas lots of articles about weed get speedy-deleted on Wikipedia, they would be totally cool over at MarijuanaWiki. But really I want the site to be more of a marijuana community than merely an encyclopedia.

To give you an example, I want to have city guides about where to score, find pot-friendly cafes, marijuana events, and what represents a good price in that city. Etc. (You can check out the featured article: "Toronto" to see what I mean). I also want to have grow diaries and marijuana blogs. All in all, basically more communal than encyclopedic.

I am in need of admins/moderators, and people experienced with MediaWiki to help build policy, categories, and templates, etc. If you'd be interested in helping me with this project, the URL is MarijuanaWiki

Thanks for your time and consideration. Hope to see you there!

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Pdx herc.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Pdx herc.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 15:58, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
