Speedy deletion of Bozo's Blues now Manchester City Blues
[edit]A tag has been placed on Bozo's Blues now Manchester City Blues requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. JamieS93 17:03, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Username concern
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You have several options freely available to you:
- If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
- If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Thank you. GaryColemanFan (talk) 22:11, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: your message at User talk:Nancy
[edit]Unfortunately, an article on your forum is highly unlikely to be accepted, and similarly, links to it are unlikely to be deemed appropriate for inclusion. The inclusion criteria for articles on websites are at Wikipedia:Notability (web), which are summarised as any one of the following:
- The content itself has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself.
- The website or content has won a well-known and independent award from either a publication or organization.
- The content is distributed via a medium which is both respected and independent of the creators, either through an online newspaper or magazine, an online publisher, or an online broadcaster.
In terms of links, the relevant page is Wikipedia:External links, which under "Links normally to be avoided" includes:
- Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article.
- Links mainly intended to promote a website. See External link spamming.
- Sites that are only indirectly related to the article's subject.
Note that external links on Wikipedia do not boost search engine rankings; Wikipedia pages use nofollow tags. Oldelpaso (talk) 09:19, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
