Image copyright problem with Image:UJAT logo.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:UJAT logo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 19:06, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Duplicate images uploaded
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:UJATlogo.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:UJAT logo.jpg. The copy called Image:UJAT logo.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 19:14, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
New logo
[edit]It is preferable to contact me via my user talk page, since it's a simple matter here to create links to references. >>SORRY, I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THIS USER TALK FEATURE; STILL LEARNING IT...
My suggestion was not for you to locate a lower resolution version from somewhere, but to use freely available graphics tools to reduce the scale (and therefore the resolution) of the image yourself. This is a trivial operation to carry out. As it happens, the image is still too big. There's no reason for a fair use image to be any larger than the size at which its displayed in the article. (160px in this case, but there's no reason for it to be less than 200px.) You furthermore had no need to upload the smaller version under a different title. It would have been easier all around to upload it over the old, larger one. >>> THE IMAGE IS ALREADY 160PX, WHICH IS ALREADY LESS THAN THE 200PX TARGET YOU ARE ALLUDING TO ABOVE. SEEMS TO ME IT COMPLIES WITH EVERYTHING NEEDED. AS FOR THE VARIOUS VERSIONS AND TITLES, ETC., I WAS JUST LEARNIONG THE SYSTEM BACK THEN AND MADE SOME MISTAKES ALONG THE WAY. MY GOAL IS TO HAVE A SINGLE IMAGGE UPLOADED WITH THE PREFERRED NAME OF UJATLOGO.JPG(THIS IS IN FOLLOWING WITH YOUR NAMING RECOMMENDATIONS, (NAMELY, "in order to prevent duplicate names").
Your fair use rationale is somewhat deficient, and the new image is likely to get tagged for deletion on that basis. You would be better off using {{logo fur}}
, which can provide the usual fair use rationale that applies to 99% of the logos on the site if you just fill in a few parameters. TCC (talk) (contribs) 10:01, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Description |
This is the logo for Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco. |
---|---|
Source |
The logo may be obtained from Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco. |
Article | |
Portion used |
The entire logo is used to convey the meaning intended and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the intended image. |
Low resolution? |
The logo is of a size and resolution sufficient to maintain the quality intended by the company or organization, without being unnecessarily high resolution. |
Purpose of use |
The image is placed in the infobox at the top of the article discussing Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco, a subject of public interest. The significance of the logo is to help the reader identify the organization, assure the readers that they have reached the right article containing critical commentary about the organization, and illustrate the organization's intended branding message in a way that words alone could not convey. |
Replaceable? |
Because it is a non-free logo, there is almost certainly no free representation. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary. |
Other information |
Use of the logo in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy, logo guidelines, and fair use under United States copyright law as described above. |
Fair useFair use of copyrighted material in the context of Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Robruiztrue |
. HOW IS THE IMAGE AND RATIONALE I PROVIDE ANY DIFFERENT THAN THOSE OF OTHER UNIVERSITIES?
(SEE, FOR EXAMPLE. UNAM'S IMAGE SIZE (1060 × 1181 RESOLUTION AT 200PX)AND ITS IDENTICAL RATIONALE AT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Autonomous_University_of_Mexico)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:UJATlogo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:UJATlogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:52, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Re: Vandalism? on Puerto Rican article
[edit]Re your message on Wikipedia talk:Administrator intervention against vandalism: I removed the edit in question and another vandalism edit. Reporting vandalism there is not the appropriate place. Instead, you can revert the change yourself and then report it to WP:AIV should admin intervention be necessary. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:43, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Cunduacán

No way to fix article
[edit]there seems to be no way to fix this article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Booksources&isbn=0718821645
I could find no "edit this page" tab, and no "discussion" tab. the problem is that when the table of contents is in shown mode, the map of the world to the left covers the toc making it impossible to view it.
