comments on comments re: Hutchinson Effect

[edit]

Someone commented that I had not "signed " my name, which I actually had done, but the entire page was distorted and had strange formatting which was quite accidental. Reading some of the " how to " instructions since then has left me even more confused...

Also, someone, on my comments on John Hutchinson Effect, seemed annoyed at apparent annonymity, where in fact, I actually typed in my name and email address, which were subsequently missing.. whoops. I will read through the manuals and try better formating in the future.

I have no information on John Hutchinson that anyone can't find on Radio, TV, on the Web, etc., but I actually have QUESTIONS. Why is so much information MISSING? Why are so many strange occurances completely unexplained such as the Canadian Government illegally stealing TONS of his equipment, and despite a Supreme Court ruling ordering the RETURN, the Government remains silent? Why hordes of literal, Men In Black Suits, armed with briefcases, illegally entering his premises? This may be an instance where the QUESTIONS speak louder than the ANSWERS provided.

Well, maybe I am getting a bit paranoid myself, since trolling does occur in WP, and your name could be read as a pun of obscure meaning. If you are serious about the formatting, I don't know what the problem might be, but Wikipedia:Community Portal should help you find Wikipedians who can help you fix this. ---CH 08:03, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can change your preferences to give yourself a nickname like "Robin Graves" if you like. ---CH 08:06, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
About the section heading "First User Talk Page Robin Graves": I hope you meant to write "First User Page Comment by Robin Graves". See WP:SOCK for why WP discourages multiple user accounts. ---CH 08:08, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In trying to "sign Up" to websites with a few hundred million previous users, I could never use just 'robingraves ' as it was already used a hundred times, and the websites suggested I use some inane name like " robin_graves_7345_2006_new" etc. Nothing like speaking your web address over the phone " octothorpe underscore robin underscore three six five ampersand backslash two zero zero six ", and having the person at the other end of the phone actually write down the information correctly... What is ideal is all lowercase all english, all common words, with no numbers or SYMBOLS. A brilliant Engineer/ mathemetician I worked with at Atomic Energy suggested the middle nickname " dusty " as an alternative to underscores, numbers, and symbols, and, contrary to popular stereotypes, brilliant mathemeticians can be wonderfully funny, so the " dusty " is just funny, while allowing me to sign up on any website without trying a few dozen times to find a name that is not already in use... Again, big yellow boxes are randomly separating my text, which as I type it in here, in black and white, in the edit window, show no control characters whatever, and on the HUNDREDS of "how to " pages in Wikipedia, I have not yet found instructions on how to make a big yellow box outlined with blue dashes, separate your text in a paragraph. ie., I couldn't do this if I wanted to, but, here it is, whether I want it or not! Robindustygraves 16:30, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
See, the problem is that you add line breaks when you type, instead of keeping everything on the same line. Then, if you happen to start a line with a space, then Wikipedia treats it as (I believe) a code block and formats it accordingly. - Leszek 20:54, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Like so. So try to type on one line unless you're starting a new paragraph.

Thanks for the tip - every HOW TO page I go to has dozens of BLUE words that take me to dozens of other pages with dozens of other BLUE words etc. etc. so that it is taking forever to navigate the complexities of protocols and terminologies. "Eventually"... I hope.

Hello again, this November 11th 2K6, I am researching the reports and news items which I referred to earlier, and have contacted officials in the Canadian Government in Ottawa, and am waiting for details on the involvment of the Canadian Government with John Hutchison.

I will post the results when they are all in...--Robindustygraves 04:23, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
