Peer Review from Hugh Beresford. Hey, I think this is where I put the peer review but if not I apologize and I will get it to the right spot before the deadline. Robbie, I really liked this article. It gives such a good overview of Highlife. I really liked your descriptions of coastal highlife and Palm Wine music and the changes it underwent as it progressed further inland. Super cool! Was this due to the cultures inland being more untouched by colonialism? Maybe add some stuff on this. Really cool parallel to the Jazz music of New Orleans. I find these types of parallels offer some familiarity to the context. I was able to see the dynamics and understand the change in the music more due to the knowledge I have of Jazz music in the west. Although I understand it was not the exact same it gave me confidence in understanding as to what I was reading about. Also, why were productions of the records stopped before world war two? I would suggest breaking the History section up into subheadings so that it is easier to read and less intimidating. Keep the paragraph structure just add a subheading like Shift to Jazz in the 1920s or just the 1920s. Even if you did not write these sections I think the article could improve here. I really like the sections you added though. They definitely enhanced the article. May consider adding some pictures of the geographical regions for frames of reference. Or possibly add a photo of a palm Wine restaurant just for fun! For citations, I see you only have one in-text citation for the Palm wine opening paragraph. Does this source cover all the information above? I find, at the very least, adding more citations even if it is the same source helps the reader know the information is trustworthy. Also on this, it might be good to find a second source that mentions some of these things in it and double-cite everything so that the reader knows it is backed up by two people. This makes the claims ten times stronger as a reader and they know the one fella isn’t pushing some agenda. Honestly, though, I love this topic, I love the information you submitted and II am stoked you chose this for the class. I was genuinely torn between this and the Syrian music so I am glad to read about it. Hope these help. Hugh Beresford1997 (talk) 15:39, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Robie Hillier. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Robie Hillier moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Robie Hillier, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - Thank you, that is a far better idea. RobieHillier (talk) 22:13, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
