Orphaned fair use image (Image:Unimaas logo small.png)
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Unimaas logo small.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Durin 14:25, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Strange. I used it in a userbox and you deleted it, but the use in the userbox was to "illustrate the organization, item, or event in question", which is ok according to the fair-use policy, so I don't see a point in deleting it. Anyways, I used it in an article now. Hope it makes you happy. Robert Buzink 22:15, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of "Geekipedia"
[edit]A page you created, Geekipedia, has been tagged for deletion in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:
- No indication of importance/significance. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, organisation, or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant.
Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.
You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.
If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. Thank you StaticGull Talk 14:42, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
About Robert (Bob) Fabry
[edit]I see that you contributed a draft biography in wikipedia for retired UC Berkeley prof Robert Fabry. I was wondering if you know where did he get his Phd? and who advised him? Thanks I want to complement my report about Unix systems with that biographical info.

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Robert Buzink! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 139 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Bob Fabry - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
