- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

columns
[edit]You edited several Road to Le Mans articles, finding markup of this form:
{{col-start}} {{col-2}} (first table) {{col-2}} (second table) {{col-end}}
and removing the first {{col-2}}
. In my correction, I included edit summaries like "If you wish to remove a column you must remove a full set of column markup, not just one {{col-2}} template." Unfortunately, you didn't understand my meaning, so I will explain it more completely. If you want to remove the two-column structure, you have to do it completely and remove all four column templates, not just the first {{col-2}} template. Removing just that one template results in a Table tag that should be deleted lint error. So, again I say to you, with respect to these four articles, If you want to get rid of the two-column structure, you have to do it completely and remove all four column templates, not just the first {{col-2}} template. Since you are the one who wants to get rid of the two-column structure, will you please complete the task? —Anomalocaris (talk) 08:22, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

January 2024
[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 09:34, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
- you mean like, every edit i do? Road Atlanta Turn 5 (talk) 09:52, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
- Ideally, even if it is just a basic summary like "copyedit" or "typo" it helps other readers a lot. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 09:52, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
- alright, got it.
- Thanks for the advice and have a nice day! Road Atlanta Turn 5 (talk) 09:58, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

Overlinking
[edit]Please consult MOS:OVERLINK. The article on the fourth-largest city and seventh-largest metropolis in the world does not need to be linked to. If someone wants more information on the location of the Interlagos Circuit then they can just click on the adjacent link to the article about the circuit.
