. MER-C 13:11, 27 June 2020 (UTC)No I have edited other things about deaf artists and deaf movie actors and still haven’t received any payments. And I talked to a club of wiki volunteers who are students at a school and they expressed concern about not being able to move forward with some projects and I told them I would take a look at what happened. I have followed all the rules and you can’t accuse me of being paid because I haven’t and I have done volunteer work editing info about deaf people in my free time because I’m deaf myself. No I have edited other things about deaf artists and deaf movie actors and still haven’t received any payments. I read all the rules and you cannot block me indefinitely on assumptions alone. You must have evidence that I’m being paid and I’m not. I’m trying to help some students out from a club. You have a vendetta and I understand that, but you can’t go around blocking people on suspicions and assumptions. Rleighty855 (talk) 17:49, 27 June 2020 (UTC) Your reason here Rleighty855 (talk) 17:53, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Whether or not you received payments is not relevant. For example, here you indicated that you had a conflict of interest and were paid, or expected to be paid, for your contributions. You now appear to be attempting to mislead us in your unblock request. Yamla (talk) 21:27, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
You told ThatMontrealIP here that you are a freelancer on Upwork. (Normally I would not be allowed to say this but since you posted it yourself, I can) How are we supposed to know when you are being paid and when you aren't? 331dot (talk) 20:31, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
The rules are clear and I went over them many times. You guys must prove to me and to wiki that I am being paid for this incident and all the other random edits I did on notable deaf people. The incident in Feb led me to do more volunteer work editing info about deaf artists and actors because I was specifically told by theroadislong to do more volunteer work and I did, then I joined a club of student volunteers who wanted to complete wiki projects so I could learn more about it. Again, the rules are clear- you have to prove I am being paid in this particular situation in order to block me indefinitely. That would mean I can’t go around and edit random articles or I’ll get banned, and it’s just based on suspicions alone? The rules don’t follow that. Rleighty855 (talk) 23:42, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
The rules state that I must either post info on my own page that I am a paid editor and post on the page itself that it is paid work. If it is not paid work then the info is not posted on the page. You guys can’t say “oh she’s pretending to not be paid for this one.” That is not how it works. Yes, I understand that many senior volunteers on wiki develop this “I’m holier than thou” motto and try to go to war with paid editors and accuse them of being misleading but to be honest there are many people who do volunteer work too. If I am being paid it would have been posted on top of the page, and it isn’t. You guys can’t insert emotions into it and make assumptions. The situation in Feb led me to do free volunteer work when I learned that it was for the best and I am allowed to do that. Rleighty855 (talk) 23:50, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- If you are a freelancer, you owe no loyalty to a specific company or industry. If you were employed by Ford Motor Company to edit about Ford cars, we would know what you were paid for and what you weren't. We have no way of knowing what you as a freelancer are paid for and what you aren't. In any event, you are free to make another unblock request to attempt to convince a different administrator. Though I didn't decline the request above, I would have, and as such I will not review any other request you make, should you choose to. 331dot (talk) 00:33, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
