Kasba-e-Saadat Hallaur

[edit]Hallaur is a small town or a big village in Northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It’s in the Siddhartha Nagar district neighboring Domariaganj. It is the biggest village of the district and hence sometimes because of its vast area is referred as a small town by local people of Siddhartha Nagar district.. Hallaur in area is followed by neighboring Mainaha village nevertheless in terms of literacy and other developments Hallaur is much ahead of all neighboring villages.
History
[edit]A few centuries ago, a Noble Family of Ahl-e-Sa'adaat, migrated from the Holy City of MASHHAD (IRAN) to INDIA during the Mughal period. In stages, one of the descendants –family of “Hazrat Meer Shah Abdur Rasool Al Rizvi” came and settled down to an uninhabited and undeveloped area in the Himalayan Valley near the Northern border of India. It has been said by the local Hallauris that Meer Shah Abdur Rasool faced tough confrontation from the Magicians settled in Hallaur who were known as “Tharus”. Meer Shah Abdur Rasool leter came to be known as “Meera Baba” Meera means Syed and Baba means an elder person or a father. The Tharus asked Meera Baba to prove himself being a true Syed and show some miracle against their magical performances. Meera Baba once brushing his teeth with a Miswak sowed the same in the land within the premises of Today’s Jama Masjid of Hallaur. Within a fractionm of one night a huge tree was grown from that place. Apart from this Meera baba confronted Tharus with another miracle like asking wall to walk as he was riding it, asking a virgin cow to give milk etc. Tharus later left Hallaur and it’s believed that they migrated to Bengal part of India. With the Blessings of Allah [swt] and the hidden guidance of Imam-e-Zamana(A.S.) ,this area developed into an enlightened Centre with the fragrance of True Islam being spread all around and was named as HALLAUR. It is a prominent small town near Domariaganj in the District of Siddharthnagar in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. The natives of this area are basically Agriculturist by profession but since generations have also become highly educated and can be found in all walks of life. Many educated Doctors, Lawyers Businessmen, Teachers can be found in Hallaur. But most of the professionals are found either in big cities or in other countries they visit Hallaur on few occasions.
Social Educational and Religious Developments
[edit]Further, in due course of time, this area has developed and become the centre of social, educational and religious activities. A few small worship places, ImamBargah, Madarsas, Primary schools, and High-schools have been formed from time to time and are running successfully. Schools established in Hallaur are St. Thomas School, Modern School. Makhtab and Madrasas are preferred sources of education for all, preferably for Women.
Population, Religion & Demography
[edit]Hallaur has an estimated total population of approximately 20,000 people including those of the adjoining areas. Residents of Hallaur are referred as Hallauris. Most of the Hallauris practice the Islam religion with considerable population of other faiths such as Hindus, Buddhists and Christians. Christians also have their missionary school named as St. Thomas on Main Highway Street of Hallaur.
Most of the Hallauri Muslims are Twelver Shiites from the “Rizvi Clan” . Around 95% of entire population is Muslim out of which more than 90% Shiites are from the Syed families of “Rizvi Clan” they are predominantly devout Shias. Other 5% of population has Buddhists and Dalits, Hindus and Christian population.
Jama Masjid & Managing Committee
[edit]Also, a Central Jama Masjid was built by the then Nawab of Lucknow about two centuries back. The present "JAMA MASJID" was rebuilt in 1930's. This Mosque has, since then, been reconstructed, expanded and repaired from time to time with locally available resources, techniques and materials. The Jama Masjid’s managing committee known as “Anjuman-e-Yadgar-e-Hussaini” looks after all affairs pertaining to the management of the Masjid. The present Imam of the Jama Masjid is ‘Hujjatul Islam Maulana Qalb e Abbas Saheb’. "Anjuman-e-Yadgar-e-Hussaini" is actively involved in organizing various religious activities in Hallaur.
Hallauris outside Hallaur and their Religious activities
[edit]The majority of Hallauris of Mumbai live in clusters at Govandi. They are also found in other areas of Mumbai like Mira Road, Mumbra, Bandra, Kurla and other parts of Mumbai. For the Hallauris the three days are very important when Moharam comes to and end, before Athvi, on 6 Rabilawwal they have an all night Shabbedari of their Hallauri Anjuman - Anjuman e Hyderi Govandi. Anjuman-e-Haidery Hallaur is a regisitered body of Hallauris in Mumbai established , registered under the prevailing law and operational since 1952. Earlier before migrating to Govandi, Hallauris were settled in Dongri an arean in South Mumbai. On 8th Rabilawwal the third month of Islamic Calendar or Athvi the Amari procession at Govandi another Hallauri organised event takes place. Its one of the most succeful religious procession which was carried out for the very first time by another registered body of Hallauris “Anjuman-s-Masoomiyah Haidery Hallaur”. Almost 25000 of the Govandi population follow Shia Islam of its 500,000 total population.
Hallauris are fiercely independent, and all these events are done by donations from the migrant Hallauri community, the volunteers of “Anjuman e Haidery Hallaur” move with their receipt books to make Athvi in Mumbai at Govandi a peaceful memorable event.. Another famnous procession which takes place every year on 7th of Rabi ul Awwal refereed as ‘saatvi’ means Seventh from ImamBargah –e- Haidery Hallaur, a Masjid cum Imam Bargah built by Hallauris in Govandi. the
Silver Taboot
Apart from being actively involved in organization of all religious events, Hallauris also participate in religious ceremonies organized by other organizations. Many a times due to their Noha recitation and Matam Halluris have been parised by other organizations.
The Silver Taboot was crafted by Mr. Mohammad Abbas Askari Husain Anguthiwale to be gifted to the Anjuman of Hallauri Imambada, Govandi, Mumbai. This Anjuman has a programme in the month of Safar, a Juloos where 72 Taboots are carried by the mourners. The donor of this Taboot has vowed last year that he will make a Silver Taboot if his wish was fulfilled. The estimated cost of this Taboot is Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand (Rs.1,50,000).
Hallauris , they are absolutely good looking race , humble down to earth , talented beyond their human resources. They are creativity personified. Their hand matam is unbeatable , and very well known all over India..They are a unique community and most of them have the same resemblance because they marry within their community.
