I have not seen or heard any evidence of the delay being shorter than it should be - I have only seen people claiming that. It takes a radio signal approximately 1.3 seconds to get to the Moon on the average. It varies a little because the distance changes. In some of the recordings, you can hear the words from the ground being echoed back in the proper amount of time. I know of no case where it is shorter than it should be. And remember that the astronauts were hearing our communications 1.3 seconds later, not 2.6. If there is not a delay from the time from the talking from the ground until the astronaut talks, it could be because the delay was edited out, as the article says. It could also be the case that someone starts answering before the other person finishes their qu..... Notice that in real life, sometimes one person starts talking before the other one finishes.
