Samta Gram Seva Sansthan
[edit](SGSS) was Founded on 28th May 1979.SGSS was founded by a group of young student or individuals who were in Sampoorn Kranti Andolan (J.P Andolan 1974). The Main Founder of SGSS is Raghupati Singh and some of the prominent members of the groups were Late Shri Awadh Bihari Singh (Freedom Fighter), Late Shri Gulam Sarwar (Then Education Minister, Govt. of Bihar) who was the first chairman of SGSS, Late Shri Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh (Then Minister of Govt. of Bihar), Late Shri Shivnandan Paswan (Then Minister of Govt. Of Bihar), Veteran journalist and former Rajya Sabha member Late Shri Kuldip Nayar, who was first consultant of SGSS.
SGSS have several units to work on different situation in different ways :- 1. Bhoomika (Drama unit) was created to create awareness through Street Plays. 2. Samta Prakashan (Printing Press) was created to print books novels and to print magazine for creating awareness. 3. Bal Boli (Magazine) was a magazine that was written by the Children for the Children to safeguard Child Rights. 4. Jagran Sangathan (Awareness Creating Unit) was created to aware people about Gender Based Violence (GBV) and to respect each gender. 5. Yuva Manch (Employment Creation & Youth Problems to be identified) was created to identify the unemployed Youth of a particular area, to provide them employment or train them for self employment and also to discuss the employment opportunities with the local Govt bodies. 6. Vanvashi Sangathan (Adivasi Unit) created to make then self employed by providing them training on different themes and also to make them understand their rights. there were many more units of the organization at the early times.
SGSS have done some major work for the society :- 1. Fight against Kalazar - 1988 2. Relief, Rescue & Rehabilitation from flood - 1987 3. Relief from drought - 1984 4. Street Play (Nukkad Natak) for awareness on social topics, volunteers were trained by NSD Trainer. 5. Formation of Bal Panchayat for the protection of Child Rights - 1988 6. Let Be Born was implemented to create awareness to let the girl child born - 2008 7. Reduce Disaster Risk in Bihar - 2008 8. Self Help Group of Woman were support woman on different issues - 2002. 9. Sampradayik Sadhbhavna Abhiyan was implemented to try to maintain Peace where Riots occurred. (Bhagalpur Danga).
SGSS have many more achievements Like Rang Mela, Chetna Rath etc.
SGSS use to collect fund from charity and crowd funding to fight with the social issues in its early times. Later on SGSS partnered with many Trust, NGO's, Funders & Ministries of Govt. Of India & Bihar on different projects. Partners of SGSS are as follow :- 1. BFW 2. OXFAM, India 3. Save The Children, India 4. TDH, Germany 5. IPAS 6. VANI 7. BVHA 8. EZE 9. Save The Children, UK 10. AFPRO, New Delhi 11. Action Aid 12. ASW, Germany 13. SIDA, Sweden 14. United Nation Development Program 15. AWARD 16. CNRI, India 17. DRDA, Vaishali & Patna 18. Ministry Of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India 19. CAPART 20. Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India 21. National Horticulture Board. 22. Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. 23. NABARD 24. Government of India Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
There are still many left in the list.
During the time of Chamki Bukhar, SGSS held a Doctor Camp in the different areas of Muzaffarpur, Bihar. SGSS was also present in the time of COVID 19 by Distributing Masks, Hand Sanitizer, Hand Washing Soaps, Sanitary Pad's (for girls to use during mensuration, to maintain health and hygine) to the poor and needy people. SGSS also distributed raw food to the needy during the COVID 19. SGSS also tried to register the migrant labours under MANREGA to sustain their livelihood. SGSS also created awareness to participate in testing of COVID 19 and also to get vaccination.
SGSS is still working for the society with different funders on different themes.
