Andrew Lloyd Webber
[edit]Hi. apologies for posting on your page but your name is so long there's not much room left for comments about edits. You'll find a link explaining why it's incorrect to credit Andrew Lloyd Webber with two Emmy's in section 13 on Talk:List_of_persons_who_have_won_Academy,_Emmy,_Grammy,_and_Tony_Awards David T Tokyo (talk) 18:13, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Mick Fleetwood
[edit]Hi there, I've just noticed that my original edit summary was cut short and didn't make sense. I reverted it back to "British-born" because there was an issue in the past over Fleetwood's nationality. Technically he's American these days, and some people wanted it clarified that he was British-born as opposed to British. Personally I don't mind if "born" is there or not, but that's just to let you know why it was there. Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 20:23, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- Well, as I said, I personally don't mind whether "born" is there or not. You'll see I haven't reverted your edit. I was mainly reverting you for changing "British" to "English" which should be avoided without due sourcing and good reason. I'd argue with you that "British-born" infers nothing more than he was born in Britain, and with regard to someone's place of birth, it seems clear to me that it would refer to the place where someone is born, not where he happened to be living when he began playing gigs. In any case, Live '68 was not their first gig by some margin - that first gig was in Windsor. Bretonbanquet (talk) 20:55, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- Indeed. Springer's article is clear, but then he was never a British citizen, as far as I know. Some wording needs to be devised for Fleetwood's article, as it is already being changed again (this was why the wording was such in the first place). Maybe there is some MOS guideline on people who have changed their citizenship? Bretonbanquet (talk) 21:17, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
