License tagging for Image:HarryOliverDRSB.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:HarryOliverDRSB.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:08, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Harry Oliver(s)

[edit]

Hi there - spotted you'd done some moving about of Harry Oliver and the like. I moved the page to a better title and undid the redirect you made, and turned the Harry Oliver article into a disambiguation page. Think this fixes any errors you thought you might have made. Qwghlm 17:26, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks mucho. I've only been doing Wiki pages for a few weeks, and I just don't know how to revert changes from within the system. I've added the string 'desert rat' to the Harry G. Oliver references on the (ice hockey) and disambiguation pages, because many looking for *that* Harry Oliver will associate him with his Desert Rat Scrap Book, not his films. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Harry Oliver (dismbiguation), by Masaruemoto (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Harry Oliver (dismbiguation) is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Harry Oliver (dismbiguation), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Harry Oliver (dismbiguation) itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:43, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:HarryOliverDRSB.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:HarryOliverDRSB.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:08, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Response

[edit]

I have added a fair-use template. The 'article' page cited does indeed exist, despite the Wikipedia vetbot's warning. Since the cover is from an issue that was never copyrighted, I fail to understand why it should be considered 'Non-free content'. RioRico 19:51, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
