Dan Ginnane

Dan Ginnane (b.1978) is a Rugby League commentator and sports presenter on Triple M Radio in Sydney. He also is a presenter on Sky News Australia

Early Life

Ginnane attended Marist College Kogarah, in Sydney’s southern suburbs, before graduating from University of Wollongong with an Arts degree in 1998.

Career

Ginnane has been the play-by-play caller for Monday Night Football on Triple M Rugby League broadcast since 2009, with Peter Sterling and Andrew Johns. He was previously a sideline commentator and host.

Ginnane is also a member of Triple M Sydney breakfast show The Grill Team, where he reads sports bulletins and occasionally fills in as a member of the main panel.

On Saturday's, Ginnane hosts long-time sports show Dead Set Legends alongside Ray Warren and a rotating crew of guest hosts.

His current title is ‘Executive Producer Sydney Sport’.

Ginnane is also a regular contributor to the Sportsline programme on Sky News Australia, as well as a regular guest on Paul Murray Live.

His one-liners have often been quoted, particularily by Sydney Morning Herald columnist Peter Fitzsimons.[1]

Early career

Ginnane started his career as a Rugby League reporter for Triple M in 2000.

In 2003, Ginnane has a short stint at Sydney radio station 2UE.

Ginnane was previously a member of ESPN’s Pardon The Interruption Australia from 2004-2008. He filled the role of ‘Stat Boy’, as played by Tony Reali on the original US version.

In 2005, Ginnane hosted The M-Sport Wash Up on Sunday afternoons.

In the Mid-00s, Ginnane was a columnnist for Inside Sport magazine.

Ginnane has also been the ‘sports expert’ on The Shebang, Wil and Lehmo and Ugly Phil & Sami.

In 2009, he hosted ‘The Sure Thing’, a sports betting related show, with HG Nelson
