Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Northallerton Silver Band
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Northallerton Silver Band, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 14:52, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
Conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Rhysperry111. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara ✉ 20:54, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hi, I am very sorry if it seemed like I was creating a page for the purpose of advertisement. The only reason it was written the way it was is because I wanted to get it up quickly (I have a deadline) and the reason it didn’t contain much information is because I am still waiting to be given details about the charity - hopefully they will be arriving soon
Decline reason:
Frankly, we don't care about your deadline. Your article was inappropriate. Furthermore, you submitted the article, meaning you thought it was good enough. Look, you simply aren't going to be unblocked to write about the Northallerton Silver Band, nor anything else for which you have a conflict of interest. If you wish to write about other subject areas, tell us what those are and we'll consider unblocking you. Yamla (talk) 22:33, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
Hi (again), I am very sorry that you feel that my article was inappropriate. One of the big reasons I wanted to get it published was because I did not know how to get one of those information cards on the right hand side of the page to be added. I (stupidly) assumed that the reason I could not add one was that the page was not published (therefore, not official). Anyway, there's no point in making excuses and I am very sorry for what I did and that the community feels that I was acting out of their interests. I accept that I made a mistake, but I ask to be forgiven as I was only trying to contribute to something I am passionate about. Whether you accept or decline this unblock request I would just like to say I truly am sorry for offending the community and would be more careful about what I do if unblocked.
Decline reason:
I think by "information card" you are referring to Google search results? Your apology is appreciated, but Wikipedia has no interest in aiding search results for your band and we are not concerned with what your band has asked you to do. Your band would only merit an article here if it is shown with significant coverage in independent reliable sources to meet Wikipedia's special definition of a notable band; if it does, you shouldn't be the one to write about it as you have a conflict of interest and are likely a paid editor. You won't be unblocked to write about your band, and as you don't describe what you will edit about if unblocked, I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 21:57, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

- By "information card", user might have meant an {{infobox}}. – Athaenara ✉ 23:52, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
