[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Rf-spngroup", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it implies shared use of the account by more than one person, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Connection to the Nature Index?
[edit]Do you have a connection to the Nature Index? ElKevbo (talk) 01:35, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I work at the Springer Nature Group - and the team that I am in (Nature Research Intelligence) is responsible for managing Nature Index. Rf-sn276 (talk) 01:46, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
Hello Rf-sn276. You have financial stake in promoting a topic but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Rf-sn276. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Rf-sn276|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. ElKevbo (talk) 01:53, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message. Just to clarify, so when I am employed by the company, Springer Nature Group, I should put in
- {{paid|user=Rf-sn276|employer=SpringerNatureGroup}}

- Yes, that's right - without the "<nowiki>" parts, of course. ElKevbo (talk) 02:16, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- So I took a look at the comment made on Bob Edenbach's profile, who is my manager. It's a bit confusing on my understanding on this. Rf-sn276 (talk) 02:28, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello - so I talked to Bob Edenbach - and clarified it. Thank you for letting us know about it. Rf-sn276 (talk) 03:03, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
