YouTube links
[edit]Per the copyright policy, we cannot link to copyright violations. It would be different if the actual copyright owners of the show put it up, as some networks like CBS have done with clips of their shows. If you see other articles with such links, they should be removed.--Drat (Talk) 07:30, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Back to the Future
[edit]Hi. There are a couple of reasons why I reverted this. First of all, several editors have agreed that the synopsis is far too long as it is, and yet people keep coming along and adding to it. I'm constantly looking for ways to streamline the text, even removing bits I wrote myself. Second, your additions had a few spelling and capitalization errors, and unnecessarily mentioned the unavailabilty of plutonium several times when one suffices. Third, the synopsis isn't really a place for writing about continuity errors. Fourth and most important, there's a Wikipolicy against "original research". The more I read from the comments of other editors around here, the more I see that many of them have a low tolerance for anything that even looks like fan research. (For example, Back to the Future timeline was recently nominated for deletion, even though everything in it proceeds directly from what is either seen in the films, verified historical fact or stated by the filmmakers in interviews.) Your assumption that Doc doesn't watch another second of possible filming (and I'll go back and look, but Marty could have released his pressure on the button that rolls film, even if he's still holding the camera) is reasonable but speculative. For example, I've never assumed that that's the very last moment of the tape.
Still, I'm just one editor, trying to act in accordance with Wikipolicy while preserving as much as I can of everyone's good contributions. If you feel strongly about this, you may want to write about it on the talk page as a proposed addition, and see what other editors say. Thanks, and happy editing! I'm sure you'll find other contributions to make that won't run into roadblocks like this. Karen | Talk | contribs 16:52, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
