@Limegreen: Not sure if you'll see this, but I'm really interested in getting more info about the academic paper you refer to in the page on Charles Fox Parham. Here's what you said in talk:

"I don't care enough about this topic to hunt out a WP:RS, but I have a well-referenced paper presented at an academic conference (on linguistics) that suggests that is the case. Rather than calling it "ridiculously POV", you might wish to consider that "truth is stranger than fiction"."

It was a paper presented at a fairly obscure conference. I probably only have an abstract, and maybe some notes, and they're stored away in a place I can't get to until next year. I think my point was that speaking in tongues may have not been part of Christian practice for a very long time. Incidentally, if you are curious about the rest of the paper, it was looking at the 'content' of the speaking in tongues. From what I recall, it suggested from a linguistic point of view that it didn't really represent a "tongue"/lanugage. Hope that helps. Limegreen (talk) 21:24, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
