Regarding your recent submissions to Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects, I wanted to let you know that you can simply write the title of the article in the "target of redirect" field rather than pasting the URL, because it means that the reviewer only has to change it back again. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Combine measurements

[edit]

Please do not add combine measurements that have only height, weight, arm, and hand length. This was a discussion that was had at WT:NFL a long time ago. An example of a valid inclusion would be Travon Walker. An example of when not to include it is what you did at Tershawn Wharton.--Rockchalk717 00:23, 12 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

nflcombineresults.com

[edit]

This website is not a reliable source please stop using it. This is because of multiple reasons:

1. The website isn't connected to any major known website and the operator does not make themselves known to be able to identify if they are a known expert.

2. NFL combine data was not tracked prior to 2000 and everything prior to that is based on unofficial and unconfirmed reports.

3. They claim to get their information from NFL.com, CBS.com, JSOnline.com and ESPN.com when known of these sites track combine info prior to 2000 (or even at all).

4. They openly claim their accuracy is not guaranteed in their about section of their website.

So once again, please stop using it.--Rockchalk717 22:35, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Let me go one more step further, stop adding combine results from before 2000 per number 2 above.--Rockchalk717 05:20, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Consider adding more in-depth sources on the players you create articles for rather than just transactional references and databases. See for example this source I added to Caeveon Patton which helps demonstrate notability.

According to Google, 75.9 in = 6.325 ft? ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 05:27, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. NFLCombineResults.com likes to sometimes round the heights to the nearest tenth of a decimal, so instead of writing Josh McCown's height as 75.875 inches (75 inches = 6'3, and .875 inches = 7/8"), they wrote it as 75.9 inches. The Draft Scout page for Josh McCown says 6037. The first 3 digits represent feet and inches as a whole number, while the last digit is in eighths, making 6037 = 6'3 7/8.
Sources for Josh McCown: http://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?i=6059 & https://draftscout.com/dsprofile.php?PlayerId=1190&DraftYear=2002
Another example is Travis Kelce. On his NFLCombineResults.com page, they rounded his height to the nearest hundredth and wrote it as 76.88 inches, which, according to Google, is 6.4066667 feet. His Draft Scout page says 6047, which is 6'4 7/8. His draft selection video shows 6'4 7/8, and there is another video of Travis Kelce saying that he was measured at 6'4 7/8 at the NFL Combine. Right after that, Jason Kelce said that he was measured at 6'2 5/8, which his Draft Scout page shows by saying 6025. There've been some pages on Wikipedia where someone would've taken the 6025 measurement and assumed that it meant 6'2 1/2, since they thought the last digit meant .50 instead of the last digit being in eighths, which makes the measurement 6'2 5/8.
Sources for Travis Kelce & Jason Kelce:
Travis: https://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?f=Travis&l=Kelce&i=10397

Jason: https://draftscout.com/dsprofile.php?PlayerId=76684&DraftYear=2011
Jason: https://insider.espn.com/nfl/draft/player/_/id/27369
An example of another player that had a 6'3 7/8 measurement is Will Levis. His NFLCombineResults.com page says 75.88 inches, which, according to Google, is 6.3233333 feet. His Draft Scout page says 6037, just like Josh McCown's Draft Scout page. His draft selection video shows 6'3 7/8 around the 22-second mark.
Sources for Will Levis:

Hello RevMSWIE500!

  • The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

Marvin Harrison Number

[edit]

This is 100% confirmed Not having signed the license agreement only means that fans can't purchase his jersey right now and Ojulari has given up his No. 18 to Harrison. If by the start of the pre season and he's still not signed the deal he still will be wearing No. 18 but no one can buy his jersey. Not having signed the license deal does not mean that he can't be issued No. 18 just that fans can't buy it right now. 2601:40:CB00:4AF0:90D8:D6E2:F7C7:CBF (talk) 04:34, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking that it would've been best to have waited for a team announcement that would be similar to how the New York Jets announced their rookie numbers (https://www.newyorkjets.com/news/jets-release-2024-draft-pick-numbers) in case something surprisingly changes between now and then. However, given that the Arizona Cardinals won't likely announce a different number for Marvin Harrison Jr. once they do post all of the jersey numbers for the rookies, I cited the Arizona Cardinals article on Marvin Harrison Jr.'s page for the time being. I appreciate you discussing this with me. RevMSWIE500 (talk) 05:50, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

NFL.com

[edit]

Hi RevMSWIE500. You may want to check out this post: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_National_Football_League#NFL.com. With what you wrote in the Christian Haynes edit summary earlier, I think you could have some good input regarding this situation. Believe me, I do know pfr makes mistakes here and there, but with their source being the only one in the infobox to view, on most occasions, CFL etc., it's difficult to have someone not revert it. Sometimes a reader doesn't look at the revision history or edit summary for guidance. Please take a look, who knows, we might end up with something positive here.
