Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Busy Beavers, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page English. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:23, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Curse of the ninth. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.Mcguy15 (talk, contribs) 13:56, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reopenmyschool, I'll add that the wikilinking you keep trying to add violates WP:EGG and the principle of least astonishment. A user clicking on a the name "Beethoven", "Dvořák" or "Schubert" should be taken to an article on Beethoven, Dvořák or Schubert; not to particular symphonies written by them. Please start using edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Egsan Bacon (talk) 23:03, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please stop editing the links on articles on the various key signatures. In several cases, you're replacing links to specific composers with links to disambiguation pages which lead to other people with the same last name, and in other cases to redirect pages which lead straight back to the same article, which is useless. This is not helpful, nor is the fact (already called to your attention) that you're not using edit summaries to explain your actions as you go. --Finngall talk 18:59, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please improve your edit summary use

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Your current edit summary level is a pretty modest 7%; that leaves plenty of room for improvement, and I know you can do better! Feel free to contact me on my Talk page if you have any questions. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 10:37, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
