Where to buy FFX DVDs, artbooks, etc..

[edit]

I am getting a lot of questions on this lately. I bought mine at eBay. I do not sell them. Please do not leave any questions about Final Fantasy merchandise here on my talk page. If you do feel you need my help, look for me on my wiki e-mail or on my forum. If you need specific descriptions of the DVDs or books, I did scan their covers and listed contents to help you. That was not accepted here as Wikipedia content so it can only be found at my forum Wiki here and here. Good Luck at eBay! Renmiri 00:00, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

[edit]

Just stopping by and thought I'd say hey. I hope you're doing well, Ren. Still working hard? The project has sure been lucky to have you. Anyway, I'll see you later. ^_^ Hope you and your family are doing well and continue to. Ryu Kaze 14:56, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I've gone through the sandbox page for the new design and tinkered around a good bit. I think it was looking pretty good before, but it probably did need a second person working on it. I think it's ready to go now. What do you think? Ryu Kaze 13:07, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for taking a look. I'll probably give Flooch time to look it over too before I make the change, but, yeah, I'll be glad to do it. Ryu Kaze 15:08, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone ahead with the move now, Ren. Here is the new Spira page and the new List of locations in Spira page. I've also gone ahead with repairing all the broken links. That was a hell of a time, let me tell you. Anwyay, see you later. ^_^ Ryu Kaze 15:37, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. I got your message. Thanks.

I just hope everything will be ready soon. Crazyswordsman 02:22, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FFP site

[edit]

FFX DVD

[edit]

Hey, Ren. I was wondering if you knew for sure if those DVDs are the official ones? Somebody on the talk page has expressed a concern about it being a bootleg for these reasons:

"It is not listed in any official SquareEnix catalogue.
It is not listed on any legitimate retail website such as amazon.co.jp
The SquareEnix logo is missing. This would be legally required on any official release.
Other contractually required elements on the cover are also missing, e.g. a Dolby logo
The barcode is incorrectly formatted.
The audio options state that the DVD has Japanese audio with English and Chinese subtitles, which is implausible for a Japanese release.
The text mixes English, Chinese and Japanese wording."

Now, I do think there is an official one, and you seem sure that the one you have is it, but can you tell us where you got it or anything like that? Even if it's unofficial, we can still work it in, I'm sure. By the way, notice the adjustments to Final Fantasy X-2? Ryu Kaze 20:02, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for getting back to us on this issue, Ren. Sounds good enough to me. Oh, and FFVI and FFVIII are doing pretty good in their FACs. After that, it'll be FFX-2's turn. Ryu Kaze 02:41, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks for making me aware, Ren. No need to apologize. I'll fix it. ^^ Ryu Kaze 02:17, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dream Zanarkand

[edit]

I hadn't thought about that before, but that may well be an indication. It's on the world map, it's in an undisclosed area, it's an island to itself, and it doesn't share the exact geographical outline of the original Zanarkand. Good job. Ryu Kaze 13:55, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, here's something even better:
(From page 84 of the Ultimania Omega)
"On the basis of the memories of Zanarkand's inhabitants from 1000 years ago, Yu Yevon summons the metropolis to this day. In accordance with this principle, it exists somewhere in Spira."
Perhaps I should make another reference out of this. Ryu Kaze 14:36, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Thank you, Ren. ^^ I'm really proud of the articles. We're trying to get X-2 there now. It's currently up for nomination. I hope we make it again. Ryu Kaze 02:51, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

XD Somehow, I doubt it would get the desired effect, but it would be humorous nonetheless. Anyway, yeah, the article's seen a lot of improvement since then. I've been glad to be a part of it. If you've got any suggestions for it, feel free to lay them on us. Ryu Kaze 03:16, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and your text RPG looks pretty well-designed. Sometimes I wish I still took part in those. Ryu Kaze 03:17, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think we'll be okay where the DVD thing is concerned. It's been taken care of, and we went on what we knew at the time, and that's really all we can do.
Regarding the link: wow. That's some excellent use of images, Ren. Ryu Kaze 15:37, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is absolutely no need to convert roman numerals into phonetics for FF articles?

[edit]

Please don't take this kind of decisions alone. You edited 3 Featured articles and several Good Articles that have already been reviewed by hundreds of Wikipedia editors and judged good or best in class. Your point of view is certainly valid and should be heard, but please discuss massive changes like that at the WPFF. Specifically, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Final_Fantasy#Changes_to_a_bunch_of_articles

Welcome to the group of FF eitors, by the way Renmiri 19:32, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the welcome. It is my firm position that the phonetic renderings the roman numerals in FF titles is extraneous information, definitely a form of cruft. The first red flag is that if you look at any official Japanese FF packaging or literature, there is never any katakana key of the roman numerals. I don't think informing the world as to how Japanese speakers pronounce roman numerals is relevant to Final Fantasy. It's unecessary information. Phonetic renderings of katakana/hiragana/kanji, that's necessary and of course I'll never delete that. (Correct it constantly, but never delete!) But these roman numeral phonetics, they simply strike me as very crufty. And I'm very much in the habit of deleting cruft. =) Druff 01:45, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FFX

[edit]

Hm. Thanks for showing me. I hadn't heard about this. Well, I personally won't believe it until SE gives us something official. It doesn't seem at all like something they'd do anyway. A live action film? In the wake of two CGI films? That's ridiculus. Even if it was CGI, it's doubtful that they'd remake FFX as a movie anyway. It's not even like it's something that needs to be done. Ryu Kaze 22:14, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

[edit]

Just wanted to say hey and see how you're doing. Ryu Kaze 13:42, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, all the FA work has been wearing on me a little. Once FFVII's done, like I say, I'm going to be taking an extended break. I never intended to even try getting it to FA, and never expected it would take as much work as it did (though it went surprisingly fast).
I see you've been staying busy, but it sounds like it's been pretty fun. As long as you're having fun, doing a lot of work isn't too bad. By the way, did you watch Advent Children without playing VII first? Were you able to follow it/enjoy it? Ryu Kaze 18:00, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I'm going to need it. I'm sure I'm going to have to argue the necessity of its length. Ryu Kaze 18:21, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I actually don't have it. Thanks for the doubled well-wishes! Ryu Kaze 18:35, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yep. That's precisely why I don't use them. XD Thanks once again. ^_^ Ryu Kaze 18:52, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much for the congrats, and the star! Ryu Kaze 02:11, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, almost time for them to start. Monday's the day, but I've got to get some things ready before then. Lots of planning goes into it.
I've noticed the Anime WikiProject's need, but I just can't bring myself to try over there. XD Venturing into non-FF WP:CVG pages was about as far as I can go. At least for now. Maybe someday.
Thanks for the good luck. Same to you. I'll still drop by to check recent edits, but we won't be seeing anymore cases of writing an entire article in 2 and a half days. XD Ryu Kaze 12:05, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hm. Thanks. I'll probably use that box. As far as the FAC complaint goes, there's nothing I can do but try to explain why I made the decisions I did (even if they were bad) and point out why this doesn't detract from the article's deserved nomination. But, yeah, you definitely need to put that box up on your page. You certainly helped out with those two. Ryu Kaze 00:10, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Prince Trion

[edit]

Oh thank you so much. <3 I really appreciate it. I just don't know what to do when it's an anon user who won't discuss anything anywhere. This guy usually disappears for a few months before he comes back to put his version back in, so I was pretty surprised to see an edit this morning from him. Who knows, maybe the problem will go away on its own... -RaCha'ar 14:44, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, what I'm doing is basically posting that message on every talk page of every article that has a YouTube link in it. I've gotten about 500 of 4000 done so far. If you have AWB and are willing to help me add the boilerplate to talk pages that would be great. (Boilerplate link). I have a list of articles that I'm working on so we can coordinate. (talk page has more instructions)

I have a few users who are following behind me and removing links. I've found about 95% of the YouTube links are undoubtedly inappropriate, so simply removing all of them is an option.

Also, you can put a note on all the talk pages of the projects your part of... ask them to be sparing with the You-Tube links. ---J.S (t|c) 16:57, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Great:) You can find it at WP:AWB - you need to sign up to use it. (Approval is fairly easy, so no worries) ---J.S (t|c) 17:00, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That would be awsome! :) I apreciate the help, it's good to get some more support on this project. ---J.S (t|c) 17:03, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:FFP1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FFP1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:06, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Luca 15.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Luca 15.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Snowball

[edit]

Oh, no, it's nothing. The new(ish) Featured Topic project made a little star thing like the featured article star to go on articles that were part of a featured topic, but it was proposed for a MfD, and the vote was currently unanimous against it, as even the people involved in FT voted delete. Since I had added the stars to the articles just the other day, I felt it was only fair to remove them myself, rather than make the closing admin do it. --PresN 16:51, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
