Semicha

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Semicha. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. -- Avi (talk) 21:07, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Remmo. Thanks for dropping a line. Trying to take a purely procedural tack here, a few points:
  1. Wikipedia requires verifiable and reliable sources. To make the claim that Semicha existed unbroken requires high-quality verifiable sources, especially in juxtaposition with recognized authorities such as Maimonedes who unequivocally state that Semicha was broken in their time.
  2. Everyone needs to comply with wikipedia's civility guidelines. Bringing Nazi's into the conversation does not engender good dialogue, I am afraid.
  3. I have no idea who Rabbi Worch is, but both WP:NPOV and WP:NPOV#Undue weight may play a role here.
  4. As a general rule, articles which have been the subject of difficult discussions should have changes discussed on the talk page first, as opposed to having edit wars which may cause an admin to come in, lock the article, and perhaps take other protetctive measures.
I will drop a line on Zsero's talk page, asking him to engage civilly with you as well on Talk:Semicha and perhaps a reasoned discussion will help both of you apply the proper wiki policies and guidelines to this article. Thank you. -- Avi (talk) 22:27, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have Talk:Semicha watchlisted. Please do not copy your comments verbatim on my talk page. If anything, please wikilink to the appropriate section such as Talk:Semicha#Double Talk. Thanks! -- Avi (talk) 23:44, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked indefinitely

[edit]

I have blocked you indefinitely, as a checkuser showed that you were a sockpuppet of User:Chuwils. If you believe this was an error, please contact me first (my e-mail address is on my talk page, or you can just leave a note here - I have your talk page watchlisted). If, after contacting me, you would like to have your block reviewed by another administrator, leave {{unblock|your reason here}} on your talk page.
