PPS. I apologise for the tone taken on the article talk page, but sometimes long-standing editors can take a harsh view of edits they don't agree with, and express this without concern for new users. This sort of response is something we all get from time to time, no matter how glowing the reviews for some of our edits. Don't be too put off or angry, and just do what you can to help.
