Historicity
Hi, I had to change your edit about Suetonius, because I think we need to be 110% careful on these issues, else debates will continue for ever. While the scholarly agreement on items such as Josephus Antiq 20.9.1 is certainly "overwhelming" the same does not apply to the Suetonius. For the past 18 months I have researched these issues and alas discussed them to death with other users so I know that unless the statements about historicity are 110% correct they will be questioned. So for Josephus and Tacitus the agreements are far more solid. Feldman is the most middle of the road item and he is probably the best quote, as has been used on the Suetonius page which was teh subject of very, very long debates if you look at the archives. That type of long debate can make sane people go insane... So I hope you understand.
On that note, I have now finished most of these series of articles, if you want to take a look at them: Historical Jesus, Historicity and now "Quest for the historical Jesus" which was just finished a week or two ago. Now Josephus, Tacitus, Mara, etc. are in stable form and have not had any edits for long. If you do manage to keep an eye on them, it will be appreciated, as I will scale back from watching pages now that they have been completed. Thanks. History2007 (talk) 16:23, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
I'm quoting a source dude, it's the same methodology you're using in Jesus. The Van Voorst source actually says "Near Unanimous" and the Gonzalez source says "Nearly all." Shouldn't the language in the article reflect what the sources say?" ReformedArsenal (talk) 16:31, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
- I think you need to read the archives of the Suetonius talk page. I debated that with a user who thinks the reference is not to Jesus at all. The debate lasted for 2 weeks, it was on WP:RSN, WP:ANI, etc. The only organization not involved in the complaints was the United Nations. So I have been through this. If there are multiple WP:RS/AC statements, the safe way is to go middle of the road, or be conservative, else you "will get objections". I will not be the one objecting, but believe me that other users (who are often myth theory supporters) will question it. The difference between this and the other page is that in that case one can hardly, hardly find any scholars who question the existence of Jesus overall. But there are at least 7 scholars who question the Suetonius reference (and many of them published after Gonzalez wrote his book), so they will be listed, debates will ensue and you are unlikely to win those debates. WMSCOG 3O
WRT the 3 O process, is it the two editors with whom there is a dispute that are to provide an argument? Superfly94 (talk) 17:23, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
- You don't provide an argument, you simply summarize your understanding of the disagreement. But yes, it should be the two editors involved in the dispute. ReformedArsenal (talk) 17:37, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
Nevermind. Nancy's added her points. Superfly94 (talk) 01:56, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Used for the Infobox on Chandler's article.jpg, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- The image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated. (See section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disambiguation link notification for May 20
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited First Council of Nicaea, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Denomination (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

We are currently running a study on the effects of adding additional information to SuggestBot's suggestions. Participation in the study is voluntary. Should you wish to not participate in the study, or have questions or concerns, you can find contact information on the SuggestBot study page.
IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.
Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions
We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:
- Views/Day
- Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
- Quality
- Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.
The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:
- Content
- Is more content needed?
- Headings
- Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
- Images
- Is the number of illustrative images about right?
- Links
- Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
- Sources
- For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work.
