Errr How can my username violate the rules when it actually happens to be my real name. Butt is a Pakistani name and Reem is Lebanese. I'm from mixed parentage. I find what you said quite upsetting. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Reem Butt (talk • contribs) 21:33, 13 May 2006.
- I think this is a misunderstanding, and not a violation of WP:U. I think the name Reem Butt is entirely reasonable and plausible, and WP:FAITH is always a good idea. GChriss 06:18, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, apologies if you've been upset by what I said. Quite how you expected me to know it was your real name, though, I don't know. Are you aware of the connotations of your name in english/us slang? William M. Connolley 08:25, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Reem I have spoken to BTAUS - I have made my compromise version. Think about it and then comment. Also try and reduce the changes. WP:3RR.
from the author
[edit]reem butt, i am getting in touch not because i don't appreciate your interest in my work but because i am concerned that a serious inaccuracy is putting you and wikipedia at risk of infringing libel laws. you should be aware of that book reviews are not always reliable. so, for example, roger hardy's kind review of my book includes a reference to taking cocaine. there is no reference to taking cocaine in my book. this is a very serious allegation and repeating it is an extremely serious act. secondly, i have never met or spoken to roger hardy. sadly, just because something has been published in a relatively well respected journal does not always mean that it is true. I have posted a link to another review which is a more accurate portrayal. i am very happy for my wikipedia entry to reflect well-founded criticism of my work. like any author and journalist i make mistakes and welcome justified corrections. however the entry should be, at the very least, accurate. So you are aware, i have mailed the site adminstrators with my concerns. thank you again for your continued interest in my work. best regard Jason burke 12:18, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of DJB Foundation
[edit]A tag has been placed on DJB Foundation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Survey
[edit]Hi Reem!
I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!
It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!
Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!
Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you!
