Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, Reelcheeper! I am Calaka and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

- Hey there! It looks fine to me (but I am no expert on the subject!) Kind regards and keep up the good work. :)Calaka (talk) 07:50, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Please don't remove links from names on navigational templates such as {{Chautauqua County, Kansas}}; while we can't navigate to a redlink as long as it's a redlink, it will be linkable as soon as someone creates an article on it. Nyttend (talk) 00:11, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]Hey there, sorry for the late reply (I had exams). I would have been happy to move the page for you (the move makes sense to me) but since there is a redirect on the page where you want it moved I will have to ask an admin to do it. Shouldn't be a problem. Cheers!Calaka (talk) 08:38, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hey not a problem. I wasn't able to move it myself either so I just sent a request over to "Wikipedia:Requested moves" and you can see my edit here: [1]. Cheers!Calaka (talk) 00:48, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
AfD nomination of List of U.S. towns with foreign country names
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of U.S. towns with foreign country names. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of U.S. towns with foreign country names. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:States that I've conquered.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:States that I've conquered.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:42, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
Hi Reelcheeper. I noticed you created a Requests for Adminship page some time ago; I was wondering as to what the status of that request might be. I think it's fair to warn you that new users are rarely successful at RfA and that the Wikipedia editing community sets very high standards for editors running for adminship. That being said, I strongly urge you to read WP:GRFA, User:Davidwr/Administration is not for new users, and WP:NOTNOW, and ask you to reconsider whether you really do wish to go through with your candidacy; please understand that you stand very little to no chance of passing RfA at this point and that you are strongly discouraged from running for adminship. If you are still intent on running for adminship with that RfA and are absolutely positive this is what you want, please do let me know; otherwise, I'll go ahead and delete the RfA page for you in about a week or so from today. Regards, FASTILYsock(TALK) 03:58, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for uploading this media, (it's appreciated.)
However, it would be nice if you could give some kind of indication as to what license the media is under. That way other people can be confident in making use of it for many varied purposes :)
Adding license information also helps prevent media you've put effort into creating from being deleted :)
You may wish to read Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#For_image_creators which will assist you :)

Dodge Colt
[edit]Hello Reelcheeper, Dodge Colt wagons belong on the Mitsubishi RVR page, as they are developed separately from the Colt sedans. Therefore there is no need to keep placing that photo on the Dodge Colt page. A note on their existence would be useful, but no need for more than that. Photos reply
[edit]Thanks!
There have been a handful of cases in which I've asked permission for a photo, and it's much easier when it's a legitimately rare car -- something that the owner would be proud to show off. Usually no one is around when I'm taking photos, and there are a few where the owner is in the car and I blur the face or take an angle where they're not visible. Possibly unfree File:30th Anniversary Edition.jpg
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:30th Anniversary Edition.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --ARTEST4ECHO (talk|contribs) 19:00, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Inline commonscat
[edit]Why did you change the regular commonscat to the inline one on a handful of Buick articles? --Sable232 (talk) 03:32, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- I see. A couple problems with that though: First, where there isn't an "external links" section, putting it under references is rather misleading. I think it would be preferable to add an external links heading in these cases. (And, in fact, it would probably add enough extra space that it could be switched back to the standard box if another link is added.)
- Second, I think the purpose of the box is to separate it from the non-Wikimedia ELs. Putting it inline above any others seems to give it both undue weight and decrease its visibility at the same time. Now, I know that can't be helped in these cases where there isn't room for the box, so I guess this issue just demonstrates that it's better to use it only if absolutely necessary. --Sable232 (talk) 20:48, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
User pages
[edit]I noticed your edit at WT:Vandalism (diff) where you suggest that it would be ok to vandalize your user page. I understand what you are saying, but I would like to suggest that it is best to not use that approach anywhere on Wikipedia. There are a number of factors: (a) a vandal is not interested in reasoning, so no argument is going to change their mind; (b) saying that certain kinds of vandalism are ok just promotes the idea that in some sense vandalism is ok in general (it's best to just revert and ignore, see WP:DENY); (c) your user page is not really "yours": it is part of the community and there are plenty of people here (I'm one) who would object to vandalism on your page. No need to reply—these are just some thoughts. Johnuniq (talk) 03:11, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Lily Dale
[edit]If this be the case, you need to rework the article: the way it's written, it appears to be more of an intentional community or a religious commune, not a standard populated place. Nyttend (talk) 01:22, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
- I've added a ref from the Geographic Names Information System which confirms this is a federally recognized populated place despite the fact that the census does not recognize it. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:39, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
RfC at Chevrolet Vega
[edit]This is to notify you that an RfC has been opened regarding proposed edits in Chevrolet Vega. The discussion is located here.
- You star, thanks. You can work out the "For" statement via talk pages, or just be BOLD and work it out iteratively.
My thoughts are that in these respects, the Vega article should be significantly edited: it should reflect clearly the Vega's legacy, it's role in the US auto industry and it's marred track record. It should be considerably more concise. It should rely less on fan trivia and less than transparent sources. And it should include less of one editors photographs, personal vehicles and promo photos from General Motors. That's the basic thrust for me. 842U (talk) 21:34, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi! I've been searching for quite some time for some information on the book "Inside Narcotics", and I noticed that you used it as a reference in one of your edits. If you could send me any information I would be so grateful. Thanks for your contributions! Phillyfanjd (talk) 17:36, 22 December 2015 (UTC) |
Disambiguation link notification for March 10
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Punjab, India, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Orange, Climber and Fig. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles.
