Adoption

Of course I'll adopt you! I have two rules if you would like to be adopted, though:

  1. Complete assignments here in a timely manner, and
  2. Ask questions!

If you still want to be adopted, let me know soon! --Cremepuff222 (talk, review me!) 01:26, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Awesome! Also, though your new signature looks better, be sure to include a link to your userpage, and probably your talk page. --Cremepuff222 (talk, review me!) 01:35, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the copyedit on my assignment page! ;) --Cremepuff222 (talk, review me!) 01:43, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Tables

I'm not entirely sure, but I think that tables can only be written in Wiki-markup. Go to Help:Table if you need help on table formatting. Also,a brief note on your sig, how about just placing your userpage link on your name? --Cremepuff222 (talk, review me!) 23:42, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

I see you're done with your first assignment, good job! My other adoptees don't seem to want to do those...
  1. Personal Interests...
    • Really, you program in VB?? I've been working on a program for a while to help me study for vocab quizes, just to throw it out there...
  2. Goals
    • Improving articles: find an article needing cleanup or expansion that interests you, and get to work!
    • You may want to do some RC patrolling (you'll find a link on the side bar). I spend quite a while there, reverting vandalism and the such...
    • Try adding WP:NAVPOP and WP:TWINKLE to your monobook, this will help you fight vandalism more efficiently.

Hope that helps! And remember, NEVER be afraid to ask me a question. --Cremepuff222 (talk, review me!) 23:54, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Nice job with the reverts, but you left out one crucial thing: post the appropriate vandalism warning template on the vandal's talk page (look at this example), and don't forget to sign with 4 tildes. Other than that, keep up the good work! I'm glad to have an adoptee as willing to work as you! ;) --Cremepuff222 (talk, review me!) 21:45, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Toolbox

Hi, Redian. I'm very sorry that I didn't respond to your question, I've recently been receiving a TON of messages, so I couldn't see yours.

First, of all, awesome job doing RC patrol! I see you have TWINKLE, which is an awesome tool, don't you think? Second, you can find your toolbox on the left side of the screen, it should be the fourth box down. Third, my rule of thumb is to change the section heading if the previous comments are completely different to the one that I'm about to post. Or, if I'm posting on a different date, I'll start a new heading. An exception to this would be the comment being very similar to the previous comments. There is no rule to posting messages, but these three should be fairly decent.

Again, excellent work so far! If you haven't already, try looking at some articles for deletion discussions to start to build your knowledge on consensus. I hope I didn't bombard you with information, but you were asking for it. ;) --Cremepuff222 (talk, review me!) 00:35, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Yours was probably better than a sandbox diff. There's nothing better than actually doing it, so good job. Try to be patient with the assignments because my less active adoptees may be scared away if they see fifteen assignments. Have you done the readings? --Cremepuff222 (talk, review me!) 20:56, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Templates

What you're trying to create is a template. For example, if you place "Hi" in a page called User:Redian/Hi, you could use {{User:Redian/Hi}} instead of typing out "Hi" (though this would be quite pointless). Whenever information is change in User:Redian/Hi, the all of the {{User:Redian/Hi}}'s will change too. Also, see WP:SUBST and WP:TEMPLATE. That was a bit confusing, but it will become easier when you try it. *Cremepuff222* 17:10, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Learning how to encode templates like a new user greeting does take time, but with a little practice you could do it. For example, I'll give you some starters:

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Could you be a bit more specific? (Sorry if I sound aggravated; I'm current;y working on a template which I'm having some problems with..). *Cremepuff222* 00:09, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't know much java. If you look at my monobook, you'll see that I've just taken little pieces of script from other users' monobooks. You could go to Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts and see if there are any scripts that you could modify to do what you want. Sorry, again. On a lighter note, I've finished my template! You can look at it at User:Cremepuff222/RandomMotto (the coding is quite messy...). *Cremepuff222* 00:29, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Welcome

Welcome to Wikipedia, Redian! We hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some links that I found to be useful:

On behalf of the entire community, I wish you happy editing. Again, Welcome!! ~~

In this template, Redian will change depending on which page you transclude this message and the 2 tildes will turn into four and sign your name automatically. To do this just copy this code into a subpage of your's (such as User:Redian/Greeting) and place the page's title between {{}}. I hope this was useful ~ Magnus animum (aka Steptrip) 21:18, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Redirects

What you're trying to do is make a redirect to a different article. If you go to WW2, you'll see a link at the top of the screen sating "(redirected from WW2"), which also has a link to the redirect page. Just use that as an example (sorry if I'm disappointing you by not directly stating how, but I think that the best way to learn something is to try it yourself). Also, see WP:REDIRECT or possibly even WP:MOVE. *Cremepuff222* 22:19, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Assignment

Very nice, I've checked your contributions. I'm glad that you are completing my assignments, since none of my other adoptees seem to want to. *Cremepuff222* 17:26, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Adoption?

Hi, Redian. It's been a while since we last talked, and I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed that you haven't contacted me in any way recently. Also, you haven't completed any of your assignments, so please get to work. If you would like to continue the adoption, please tell me on my talk page within 1 week. If there are any issues in real life that are stopping you from editing, I'll understand, but please tell me. I'll be awaiting your reply (and sorry if this message sounded like I was angry, I'm not). :) *Cremepuff222* 00:43, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh, no, no, no! I didn't even realize that I posted this message on your talk page! I'm very sorry, you don't have to make anything up to me. Sorry for the misunderstanding! (And keep up your hard work!) :) *Cremepuff222* 01:28, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for fixing my spelling error. I appreciate it! 71.71.202.183 23:02, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Want to help me?

Hello, Redian. Would you like to help me revamp my adoptee page? I'm quite enviouc of your wiki-markup skills. :-) *Cremepuff222* "As cool as grapes..." 19:55, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, sorry I took so long to reply. I wanted the aforementioned page to look nice, and I thought you might want to use your skills to make it look nice. You don't have to if you don't want to... :) *Cremepuff222* "As cool as grapes..." 21:10, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Sorry I didn't give you any feedback on your AfDs yet. The next time you use IRC, could you let me know? We can discuss them there. *Cremepuff222* 18:29, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

== Your Contributions ==
Hello,
I noticed your recent edits, and I think that it is nice to see someone so dedicated to adding new articles to Wikipedia. I noticed that you aren't a native English speaker, but you do seem to have very good understanding of the English language. One thing that I noticed, though, is how difficult English grammar is, and I would like to offer that, upon your request, I will proofread new articles that you write, if you are unsure of the grammar. Please do not take this as an insult, you really do have a good understanding of the language, which is why I do not see the need to go over every single contribution you make, but if you need help at any point with English, I'd be thrilled to help.

Sincerement,
Redian (Talk) 19:55, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
So sorry to by let for my anwer (work time and holidays!). You are right, i'm not an native English speaker, and grammar (English or French one !) is not really my hobby! It will be a pleasure, if you can correct me, but i don't know how to organize it ? If you have an idea, please contact me.
Many thanks for all
Véronique PAGNIER 18:46, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, I'll just keep an eye on your contributions list and check the diff between pages. If I find any grammar or spelling errors I'll correct them for you. :) Also, if you need to ask any grammar or spelling or any questions about English, just post them on my talk apge and I'll answer them as quickly as possible. Redian (Talk) 01:38, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Many thanks for your help. I just hope you will not have a lot of things to change. If it's the case, so sorry, and it's means that it's time for to going back to shool ;)!
