License tagging for Image:UEFA4and5starstadialist.pdf
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:UEFA4and5starstadialist.pdf. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:07, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Celtic Park, 5-star
[edit]Regarding your recent edits about the above subject, your reference to the Celtic Park talk page does not include any source that would pass WP:V (an email from UEFA doesn't cut the mustard). I tend to agree that Celtic Park isn't 5-star - its just that we can't confirm it - and a published source from the primay organisation says otherwise, leaving your reverts are on somewhat shaky ground. Anyway, i'm not oing to push the issue, but i wanted to ask if you would mind fixing the glaring space your deletion has left in the UEFA5Star template. Thanks. Rockpocket 04:32, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- It wasn't just their word on an email they also attached a document to it as well (this is now a few months out of date but i uploaded it to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:UEFA4and5starstadialist.pdf ). This document, I believe, does cut the mustard and should be considered more accurate as a source than what a journalist has written on the magazine section of the UEFA website (the same magazine section which listed Celtic Park as Rangers stadium prior to a game against Porto last year!). - Have you any idea how easy that pdf would be to fake? I could, if i wished to make a point, make another one exactly like that in about 10 minutes listing Cappielow as a 5-star stadium. I'm not suggesting that you did fake it, simply that it does not satisfy WP:V, as it is not published and you obtained it through your original research. Listen, i'm not doubting that you're correct here (i happen to think that CP is not 5-star either) i'm simply stating that "verifiability, not truth" is the benchmark for WP inclusion, and this particular fact is proving very difficult to verify, with official sources giving conflicting information. I was also concerned that the template is now untidy, after you removed the text, and hoped you could fix it. Rockpocket 18:23, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Water Polo
[edit]Hi Red star,
I am trying to start a WaterSports Wikiproject. I got this idea when I noticed that the Phelps page did not have a picture, even when it was a featured article on the main page, and when he broke the world record. Swimming/WaterSports needs a hub of workers to help with swimming related articles. The project would include long and short course, along with water ballet, syncro, diving, water polo, open water and the players of those sports. It might be given the name WaterSport(s). It's all up for discussion. If you are interested in helping out, please add your name to this list and add any comments you might have. See you around the pool, --wpktsfs 03:25, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
