Welcome to Wikipedia. The article that you created appears to be copied from a web page. • If you'll let me know which article, and which part, I'll take a look. It's likely that some of the material came from a web page, but it would have been my own.
Hi, the information appeared on the following web site: [1]. The article was deleted by an administrator on March 9, 2006 because of the copyright violation. Please see Wikipedia:Copyright FAQ, it answers most questions that you may have about copyright issues. Regards, Accurizer 18:54, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, that's my own web site, copyright me. And shouldn't that read 'alleged copyright violation', or is guilt assumed until proven otherwise? Naturally, I used some of the same wording. To check that I'm telling the truth, leave any key phrase via the email page on that web site, and I'll repeat it here. rde42 19:17, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you are the copyright holder, please see Wikipedia:Copyrights#Contributors' rights and obligations for details regarding how you would grant a license to the public under the GFDL. You would need to provide this information in the article's talk page. Regards, Accurizer 19:34, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry, I really can't be bothered. The guidelines seem to indicate that I should have been contacted before deletion. If I have to add it all again, and chase all that up, for what was meant to be a public service, then I really don't have the time. rde42 19:38, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry that you feel a bit disappointed by this process and red tape, but Wikipedia has some strict guidelines in order to ensure compliance with the GNU Free Documentation License; unfortunately, this is necessary for legal reasons. As a note, "contact" is generally understood, within the context of Wikipedia, to mean the user talk page (not everyone wants to be or can be contacted by email), and it appears that this was done. Suspected copyright violations generally have seven days after their tagging to be resolved. — TKD::Talk 20:32, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • A note for readers. I've updated the web page from which I originally copied, to indicate what happened to the article. It appears that I should log into Wikipedia at least every seven days to make sure I'm not being accused of anything. Life is too short. I appreciate the legal problems, but email is the solution, if one is not to live inside Wikipedia. Perhaps it's all a plot; you have to attend the club regularly to be a member! rde42 20:54, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Deleted information is still available to administrators and it can be undeleted for good cause. Please see Wikipedia:Undeletion policy for specifics. Regards, Accurizer 11:45, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • OK, so I make a case for undeletion. Then people (which people?) vote on it. Then it gets undeleted and I can then edit it to justify the copyright issue. Seems like a lot of work for a deletion of something I did in good faith. What bothers me is that I have to keep logging in to find out if anything else has offended someone, or it gets deleted again. I really don't see what's wrong with email, and this 'general understanding, in the context of Wikipedia' that all contact is via the talk page, just doesn't work unless you live inside Wikipedia. rde42 14:31, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

803 Autocode

[edit]

The link you added to the Elliott 803 page just goes to a "404 page not found" page from your ISP. PeterO (talk) 12:54, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. The web page was reorganised (my fault).
I have re-added the correct link.
Thanks! Bob Eager (talk) 13:49, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
