[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - Please stop adding flags to infoboxes. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:15, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
- Basically what people are trying to advise is that as per Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Icons#Avoid_flag_icons_in_infoboxes there is consensus to not use flags in infoboxes. While the whole section is relevant, this section is most pertinent.
- As with other biographical articles, flags are discouraged in sportspeople's individual infoboxes even when there is a "country", "nationality" or equivalent field: they are unnecessarily distracting and give undue prominence to one field among many and should only be inserted in infoboxes in those cases where they convey information in addition to the text.
- Here is also a link to the many discussions that have arisen on this issue which sho a clear consensus in support of the MOS. --ClubOranjeT 08:23, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Scott Sinclair, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. [edit]Your recent editing history shows that you are in danger of breaking the three-revert rule, or that you may have already broken it. An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Breaking the three-revert rule often leads to a block.
If you wish to avoid being blocked, instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You may still be blocked for edit warring even if you do not exceed the technical limit of the three-revert rule if your behavior indicates that you intend to continue to revert repeatedly.--John (talk) 22:12, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at User:John, you may be blocked from editing. Nev1 (talk) 22:18, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Mattythewhite
[edit]Please do not make statements attacking people or groups of people. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. – Majora4 (leave a message) 22:22, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
