Re: Your e-mail

[edit]

Looks like your article is off to a good start! If you haven't, yet, you may find the information at Your First Article useful. The two main issues with the article are that it isn't wikified and it could use more references - you can, however, "publish" the article before you have finished doing these - Wikipedia is not finished, after all. As for the image you mentioned, it does not appear to be usable on Wikipedia - at least not without more information. For articles on living people, as Mr. Krasin appears to be, images must be "free use," meaning that they have been released into the public domain or have been released under an appropriate license - you can see WP:COPY#Guidelines for images and other media files for more information - there must have a statement releasing the image from the copyright owner (on the website or via communication with our OTRS team) to verify that the image is public domain or under an appropriate license. I hope this information is helpful - if you have any questions, please let me know! I've attached a "Welcome" template with useful links for your convenience below. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 04:10, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Vkrasin.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Slon02 (talk) 02:46, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Vkrasin.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I had to remove the photo though. I could find no evidence that it was released under a "free" license, so I had to nominate it for deletion from the Wikimedia Commons. Since it was not a photo of Mr. Stone, I could not transfer it to the English Wikipedia as a "fair use" image. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 05:48, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Les Stone (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver)
added links pointing to Congo, Vietnamese, National Geographic, Vodou, Katrina and Sygma

Thanks for uploading File:Vodou in Haiti, IMG 4253.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Les Stone photo wanted

[edit]

Do you know of any free-licensed photographs of Les Stone that can be uploaded to the Commons? Right now, the first (and only) image in that article is one of his works. It would be far better to have a photo in the infobox and have an exemplar of his work lower down in the article. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 02:57, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
