Phi Beta Sigma

[edit]
Thanks for your comment. In terms of your question. I am Jewish and a few years ago I decided I wanted to be more religious than I was previously. There are some issues with being religous as a Jew and being a part of something that has references to pagan deities and is connected to elements of Greek culture. Also, I will be moving to Israel soon. So essentially when I looked at my future and where my life was going there were certain things that I didn't see as a part of it, and Phi Beta Sigma was one of those things. I still have a lot of respect for the ideals and principles of the fraternity, and I am glad I joined it instead of the other frats, but it was time for me to move on. There are some other personal reasons, but that will have to remain personal for the moment.--EhavEliyahu 15:08, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

In an attempt to expand the topic of Phi Beta Sigma here on Wikipedia, I started a List of Chapters and Conclaves. I could really use your help in expanding these lists, espically the chapters in the Gulf Coast Region. If you are able to help out it would be Greatly appreciated G.O.M.A.B. --Educatedblkman1914 19:57, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia Ambassador Program in Houston

[edit]

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're listed as a Wikipedian from Houston. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors from the Houston area, to help with Wikipedia assignments at Texas Southern University. Classes at TSU will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester, and the role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).

If you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone in Houston who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page. Thanks!--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:04, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
