- I understand the urge to cite your own work or that of someone you admire, but those papers are not appropriate external links. Please wait until the work has had some substantial impact on the relevant academic community, as evidenced by multiple citations in prominent review articles, and cite those instead. In the meantime, Wikiproject Physics is always looking for volunteers to help us explain the relevant material, as reported in reliable sources. - 2/0 (cont.) 20:42, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
Problems with upload of File:M.A.P.Rao.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:M.A.P.Rao.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Formatting the infobox at the top right
[edit]I see that you are still having trouble with the information box at the top right of User:Raomap. Did you see my reply to your help desk question, currently at Wikipedia:Help desk#Image problem? (It will be archived soon, though).
The proper way to format the box depends on whether you are trying to write a draft article, or merely posting some information on your user page.
Writing a draft article?
[edit]M.A.Padmanabha Rao | |
---|---|
File:M.A.P.Rao.jpg | |
Born | September 19, 1937 |
Nationality | Indian |
Known for | Discovery of Bharat radiation |
...then to judge from your user name you should read Wikipedia:Autobiography. But the proper way to format the box is with {{Infobox scientist}}. I've copied this from the template page and have filled in some of the fields. See the template page for the other fields you could add.
{{Infobox scientist | name = M.A.Padmanabha Rao | image = M.A.P.Rao.jpg | birth_date = {{Birth date|1937|09|19}} | nationality = Indian | known_for = Discovery of Bharat radiation }}
Creating your user page?
[edit]File:M.A.P.Rao.jpg | |
Date of birth | September 19, 1937 |
---|---|
Nationality | Indian |
Known for | Discovery of Bharat radiation |
I've read somewhere that article-related infobox templates shouldn't be used on a user page. Here is the code to display the same information using {{Infobox}}. Note that you have complete freedom to add whatever lableN/dataN pairs you wish:
{{Infobox | bodystyle = width:26em; text-align:left; | title = M.A.Padmanabha Rao | image = [[File:M.A.P.Rao.jpg|225px]] | label1 = Date of birth | data1 = {{Birth date|1937|09|19}} | label2 = Nationality | data2 = Indian | label3 = Known for | data3 = Discovery of Bharat radiation }}
As you can see, the two versions display the same. Pick one of them and add it to the top of User:Raomap. I hope this helps! -- John of Reading (talk) 19:04, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
