Welcome!!

[edit]

WELCOME!! Hello, Ramses 101@yahoo.com! I want to personally welcome you on behalf of the Wikipedia community. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you haven't already, you can put yourself new user log and list of users so you can be properly introduced to everyone. Don't forget to be bold, and don't be afraid of hungry Wikipedians...there's a rule about not biting newcomers. Some other good links are the tutorial, how to edit a page, or if you're really stuck, see the help pages. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line at my talk page...and again, welcome! -- Diehard2k5 03:30, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Username discouraged

[edit]

Hi, Ramses_101@yahoo.com, I see you have used your Email address for a Username. I recommend against this. Users can email you through here, or leave a message here, on your talk page. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you must change it, just keep it in mind. Thanks, and Welcome to WP! --Deon555|talk 03:33, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Ramses 101@yahoo.com,

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Unfortunately, using your e-mail address as your username is not a good idea. Wikipedia content is extensively copied and the site itself is one of the most visited sites in the world. Any edit you make on Wikipedia will have your username attached to it, and using your email address will make you a tempting target for spammers. We recommend that you change your username at Wikipedia:Changing username in order to prevent abuse.

If you need any help, simply contact me on my talk page, or go to Wikipedia:Help desk. Another option is to place {{helpme}} on your own talk page, and someone will come shortly to help. Remember to sign your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). Again, welcome!
