Four tildes in edit summaries
Hi and Welcome to Wikipedia! Please note that using four tildes in edit summaries doesn't work – it only works in comments you write in pages, but not in edit summaries like this one. Thanks. HeyMid (contributions) 17:02, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Just wondering what this page is for/about. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 23:09, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
- Ah ok. I'm probably going to be no help in that regard either, but I can ask around if you want? --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 11:40, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
- Just to keep you updated, I found what appears to be the answer to your question. If you take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Eagles247#Question_for_Umutcan123456 , that should be able to help you. Also don't be afraid to ask Eagles 247 any questions about the subject either (believe me, he knows what he's doing). Anyway, I hope that helps. If you need to ask me anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 13:11, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Wyngard-Tracy.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Wyngard-Tracy.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mbsa73 06:58, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Hello Rammaum!
Hello Rammaum! Are you an ulama? I saw your edits in Sharif ul-Hashim of Sulu, I wonder if you can help me creating the articles for the rest of sultans of Sulu? And do you have any copy of history of the sultanate? Thanks, --— JL 09 talk (site)contribs 12:20, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:35, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

before taking someone to task on Manual of Style, I would recommend you read it first! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.0.255.34 (talk) 14:27, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- I've done reading and I want to inform you of what I have read. The Full date formatting suggests that both of what you did and what I did were correct and can be used both. However, what I was telling is that the Format consistency should be kept. Your format is different from what is in the infobox. Thefore, you committed no consistency. Rammaum (talk) 16:47, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- Read again then, you have missed the point, or more perceptibly, the comma. Also format in the infobox depends on user settings, that's the beauty of that method. But mostly, get your facts correct before taking other users to task. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.0.255.34 (talk) 17:08, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi, you gave what was described as an English IPA description for the name Junrey Balawing but the transcription was not of English phonemes. The entry was deleted, but if the descrition was of the pronunciation in some language other than English it can and should be restored. Can you clarify? Thanks. μηδείς (talk) 00:50, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hello, obviously this biographical article is intended for English speakers and not to the subject's country of origin. Though we Filipinos speak English but we do have different sets of languages, alphabet & even Wikipedia page. Thus, I am hoping for the restoration of IPA description you deleted. Rammaum (talk) 10:46, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Hello. Yesterday I declined to delete the article under Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion. Today, it looks like the article has been proposed for deletion under another method, known as PROD. If you wish to contest the deletion, edit the article and remove the {{Proposed deletion}} template at the top of the page.
You should be aware that the article may still be nominated for deletion under Wikipedia's usual deletion process, called AfD, even if you remove the {{Proposed deletion}} template.
If Matampay United is a notable football club, I recommend that you find reliable sources that establish its notability and add them to the article. For information about what makes a team notable, see WP:NSPORTS. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 19:55, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Re: Welcome
Hi Rammaum. Kindly don't "welcome" me to Wikipedia; I've been an editor since 2004 even though I don't make many contributions. You can address your concern directly rather than hiding behind the welcome template.
The transcription on Junrey Balawing's page contains some very basic IPA errors – stress marks after the stressed vowel instead of before being the main one, but also the use of "I" (capital I) instead of ɪ (small capital I). I'm sorry that you didn't think it was the "standard Tagalog pronunciation", but I felt that it was not standard IPA and that it warranted changing. I'm not going to change it now because you'll probably revert it back (this is why I hate this website), but I think it is inaccurate IPA and that it is irresponsible of you to promote the inaccurate IPA in such an aggressive way.
By the way, I did actually listen to the sound file to verify if what I was editing it to was accurate or not.
Finlay (talk) 11:19, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
- I am assuming good faith by being welcoming to everyone, if that hurts you it's not my concern anymore. Besides don't take too personal coz everyone is welcome to contribute. And to be fair with you I made the Tagalog IPA transcription on Junrey Balawing through the given examples here, which happened to be my native language, which I understand very loud and clear. Rest assured that I won't argue with you in terms of IPA English because it is not my first language. — Rammaumtalkstalk 18:47, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
PS: having looked up the page, I see that your editing Junrey's page with inaccurate IPA has been an issue already. Please go away and learn the IPA before you come to people blaming them for not knowing Tagalog or something. Finlay (talk) 11:22, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
- If you are driving me away by not knowing how to transcribe IPA then please convince me in Tagalog language first before you can persuade me that you know the language and its IPA ;-) chillax. — Rammaumtalkstalk 18:47, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
- One doesn't need to know a language to know how to transcribe it. Your transcription contained IPA errors, especially taking into account that page that you linked to. You must put the stress mark before a stressed syllable, not after; and "I" is not a valid character in IPA. It's ridiculous to say that I can't contribute because I don't know Tagalog; I'm a linguist by training and I'm very skilled at listening to recordings and making judgements based on that alone, and the page in question has quite a clear recording. It'd be just as ridiculous if I proclaimed that you couldn't contribute to the English wikipedia because you're not a native speaker. The other thing about IPA is that while Wikipedia has loose guidelines on how to transcribe for different languages, for consistency's sake, it's international. The same basic rules apply. And this particular example does not follow any of those rules, even taking into account the 'IPA for Tagalog' page.
- Sorry, I know I can be highly strung and need to chillax. No hard feelings... Anyway, I still say it should be [ˈdʒunrɪ bɐˈlawɪŋ], rather than [dʒunrɪˈ bɐlaˈwIŋ]. You may argue about the exact placement of the stress (as I say, I'm playing by ear), and on that matter I will defer to you as a native speaker, but the ˈ mark at the end of the word is plain wrong, and the 'wIŋ' at the end should definitely be 'wɪŋ'. -Finlay (talk) 23:28, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
- Everyone deserves to be given the benefit of the doubt as human being tends to commit mistake, e.g. you were meaning "< i >" html code instead of "[ i ]" in your comment above but Wikipedia suggests otherwise.
Anyway, if you think that you're certain with your entry than mine then I won't say anything not unless other IPA experts around will say theirs. Cheers! — Rammaumtalkstalk 04:50, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
Wobxo
Hi Rammaum. Regarding your comment here and on my talk page, my edits on the Wobxo article were actually not tests. The content was entirely original research and long-tagged as such. It was also sourced to one link that doesn't mention the town. I replaced that link with a citation that does actually mention the town and its geographical location. I have therefore restored the material. Best regards, Middayexpress (talk) 07:24, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
