Username

Greetings. Thanks for contributing to the Rambus talk page, which is the correct method for someone with a conflict of interest. You are following the proper protocols when contributing to an article with which you have a close connection, and it is greatly appreciated!

Your username is still somewhat problematic, however. Because it contains the name of a position (Marketing), it is considered a role account. Under Wikipedia's username policy, account names can only represent a specific individual. They cannot represent a position or a group of people, and cannot be shared amongst more than one person. That is actually permitted, but please consider this query: Here are a few key questions:

Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
Do you understand conflict of interest?
Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy.   * Yes, and I believe it is. Rambus is a publicly traded company whose Wikipedia entry dates back to 2004.
