Welcome

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions seem to be advertising or for promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is a new contributor's help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Nikkimaria (talk) 15:27, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding that information without discussing - you've been reverted repeatedly because a) you've put it in the wrong place a number of times, b) it's not sourced to a reliable source, and c) it's not written in a neutral point of view. It's definitely not worth mentioning in Manitoba - as another editor mentioned, it's not provincially notable. It may or may not be worth a mention in Winnipeg, but please discuss the addition at Talk:Winnipeg and get consensus before trying to add it again. Nikkimaria (talk) 16:39, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Winnipeg. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you.  BC  talk to me 16:45, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 17:24, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So you know

I've reported you to the edit-warring noticeboard. I understand you might not be familiar with all of Wikipedia's policies, but repeatedly adding that paragraph in multiple places after being told to stop by several people will likely get you blocked if you don't agree to stop and discuss first. Check out some of the links in the welcome message above to learn more about WP policies (especially our policy on edit warring. If you have any questions, you can ask at my talk page or the help desk. Nikkimaria (talk) 17:58, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I had already posted the report when I read your message on my talk page. I'm well aware that Wikipedia is for everyone; if you're willing to collaborate with everyone else, you're welcome to stay, and I would have no problem with giving you any help you need to be able to work collegially here. However, when you break WP policies (like the one against edit warring), you make it hard for everyone else to work. I have no personal grudge against you; I would just prefer you learned to follow the rules. (And by the way, you sign posts by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your post, and you don't need to put your name in the middle - the software does that automatically). Cheers, Nikkimaria (talk) 18:09, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great! Could you add a note to that effect over at the noticeboard so they know this has been resolved? I'm glad we were able to work this out amicably, and welcome to Wikipedia! Nikkimaria (talk) 18:28, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I've added a note pointing to your comment. Cheers, Nikkimaria (talk) 18:43, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
